Harley Quinn: 5 Ways Her New Anti-Hero Status Is An Improvement (& 5 Being A Villain Was Better)

Harley Quinn has become one of DC’s most popular characters, and that’s in a universe that includes Batman and Superman, among so many others. Is Harley a good person, or is she really just a bad person to the core? It’s a question that has kept many fans guessing and following the former prison psychiatrist’s adventures.

RELATED: 10 DCEU Harley Quinn Fan Art Pictures We Love

In an interview, Margot Robbie says that Cathy Yan, director of Birds of Prey, wanted to highlight the softer side of Harley, but she wanted to bring her back to her villain roots. "I had to keep being like, 'She's a bad person, still. She can't be good. She is a sh*tty person.'" Is she better off as a supervillain, or in her new, more complex status as an anti-hero? There are reasons for both points of view.

10 Villain: She Was Practically Immune

As seen in Birds of Prey, once Harley splits up with The Joker, she’s on her own. She's also emancipated herself on the new DC animated TV series, soon to be available on HBO Max.

Now, all of the people she’s wronged in the past can seek revenge, and that list is very long! Harley spent years as a force of chaos, and her idea of fun was often violent and crazy. That involved many of Gotham’s worst villains, and now those chickens can come home to roost. There is no justifying the toxic relationship between Harley and the Joker; all that means is that the Joker was a toxic and violent person to everyone, therefore deterring them from seeking revenge on the Joker or Harley.

9 Anti-Hero: She’s Ditched The Joker

We don’t see it much on-screen in either the animated series or live-action movies, but Joker’s tormenting of Harley in the comics was horribly cruel. Now that she’s free, she’s left that life behind for good.

Now that she has left The Joker and his toxicity behind, Harley, and the writers, have been able to discover who she is outside of the abusive relationship.

8 Villain: She’s Not Much Of A Team Player

In the Harley Quinn animated series, she forms her own supervillain team with her best friend and confidante  Poison Ivy along with Clayface, King Shark, and others, but Harley does not, generally speaking, work well with others – and an anti-hero on her own is a vulnerable anti-hero.

As a villain, it’s expected that her allegiances will shift around according to what’s best for No. 1 (herself), but any kind of positive collaboration generally requires at least some level of trust, something our fun-loving anti-hero/villain does not inspire.

7 Anti-Hero: She Can Finally Act On Her Own Ideas

As we learned in Birds of Prey, Joker often took credit for some of Harley’s craziest (and most successful, criminally speaking) ideas. As previously mentioned, now that she’s cut him loose, she can keep going in her own direction.

Harley can come up with an endless stream of creative ideas, some of which turn out well, and all of which result in entertaining adventures for her fans to follow. Whether it’s the live-action version or the animated Harley, she seems to be doing just fine working on her own brainpower.

6 Villain: She's Too Unpredictable

We'd like to give Harley the benefit of a few good impulses here and there, but her record speaks of a psyche makes her a bit unpredictable. Just one example is that time in the New 52 relaunch, when she made Deadshot wear the Joker's face.

Or, when she danced with the corpses of the lawyers she'd just killed, and let's not forget that, of all the DC villains, she chose to kill her boss and break her Puddin' out of prison well before he tossed her in a vat of chemicals. Speaking of Joker, she tried to have him killed on their wedding day, and once threw his child into traffic. In this case, she's better off being thought of as a villain, pure and simple.

5 Anti-Hero: Inside The Madness, Harley’s Got A Heart And Now She Can Act On It

Yes, her path through the DC Universe is littered with bodies and stolen goods, but Harley is also capable of acts of real kindness, and now she can act on them at will. In Suicide Squad, she gives up the Enchantress’s offer in favor of her found Squad family.

RELATED: DC: 10 Times Harley Quinn And Poison Ivy Proved They Were The Real Deal

In the comics, she had her Gang of Harleys, a group of wounded women she took under her wing. She’s also an animal lover who rescued Bud and Lou, the hyenas, from Gotham Zoo, and in one storyline, also from the Joker’s abuse. She also liberated an entire pet store of animals who were at risk of being put down and took them in to take care of on her own.

4 Villain: Harley's Own Creator Thinks She's Definitely In The Bad Guy Group

Paul Dini was one of the original co-creators of Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn. He writes about her persona in the introduction to a deluxe edition of Mad Love released in 2015, (as described in The Perspective), and his verdict describes her as a villain. “I don’t think of Mad Love as a victim’s tale, but a cautionary one about what happens when someone loves recklessly, obsessively, and for too long.” She's at her best as a villain; she can't help it if they wrote her that way.

3 Anti-Hero: She Can Be A New Style Of Crime Boss For Gotham City

Beyond the implications for Harley’s own storyline in various media, her ascent from pure supervillain to complicated anti-hero is good for Gotham City itself. The poor citizens of Gotham deserve the kind of crime boss who’d spare an orphanage and steal diamond necklaces from the 1 percent instead.

RELATED: Wonder Woman vs. Harley Quinn: Who Would Win?

Gotham City would be in better hands than it is now, and in the live-action movies along with animated series and films, Harley is already on her way to the top of the criminal food chain.

2 Villain: As A Supervillain Sidekick, She Had More Back-Up

One thing that can’t be denied is that as Joker’s sidekick, and someone well-connected to the Gotham underworld as its queen, she had plenty of back-up when things went sideways. It’s not just the will, it’s the resources.

In Suicide Squad, Joker had a helicopter and obvious constant surveillance to help him track Harley down and give her a chance to ditch the Squad, and later, he engineered her prison escape. She’s got new friends and allies in her new path, but they don’t have the Joker’s reach or power.

1 Anti-Hero: She Can Explore Her Relationship With Poison Ivy

Birds of Prey saw Harley connecting with other women to fight for a common cause, at least for a while. And even then, when she did ditch Montoya et al and steal Black Canary’s car, she took Cassandra Cain with her.

In the television series, things are getting hot between Harley and Poison Ivy, and it looks like that direction will see even more action in the future. Can a supervillain explore girl power and love with different people? We’re thinking a softer side is more of an anti-hero thing.

JoJo: Who's the Better Fighter, Giorno or Joseph? | CBR

$

Every cool shonen anime series has its own battle system, from swords to magic to giant robots, and in the case of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, there are actually several. Early in this adventure, Hamon/Ripple was the magic power of Jonathan and Joseph Joestar, and they used it against vampires like Dio Brando and the feared Pillar Men.

RELATED: JoJo: Giorno Giovanna's 10 Best Action Scenes, Ranked

The franchise switched gears starting in Stardust Crusaders, when stands became the new norm and defined nearly all the fight scenes from that point on. Joseph acquired the stand Hermit Purple, while in Italy, Giorno Giovanna had Gold Experience by his side. Factoring in creativity, strength, courage and their best moments in battle, it's time to decide who's the better fighter: Giorno or Joseph.

10 Joseph: Predictions

This wasn't just done for comic relief; Joseph had some serious intuition, and he's not afraid to put it to good use. During battle, he can figure out his opponent's battle strategy and even their personality, and use that to predict their next step.

Such a play worked more than once for Joseph, and he even pulled it off against Esidisi, one of the Pillar Men. He can outsmart anyone's outsmarting, and he tops it off by predicting his opponent's next line of dialogue. It never fails.

9 Giorno: Ultra Healing

Every stand in this series has a practically unique power, and while Crazy Diamond is also capable of healing people, Giorno's Gold Experience takes it to the next level. For one thing, Giorno can heal himself, while Josuke cannot.

Gold Experience creates life out of nothing, and it can turn ordinary objects into bits of flesh that can seamlessly fit into an injured person's body. Of course, Giorno can't bring back the dead, but even someone with mortal wounds can be restored with Gold Experience's soothing touch.

8 Joseph: Willing To Back Off

Some anime heroes would be outraged, but Joseph doesn't mind making a tactical retreat to try things from a different angle. Joseph is gutsy but he's not reckless, and he's not the type to charge in just to satisfy some vague notion of warrior honor.

RELATED: Yu Yu Hakusho: 10 Times Yusuke Urameshi Fired His Spirit Gun

Joseph was the one who taught Jotaro that not every problem should be solved hastily or by brute force. Instead, Joseph will back out of an iffy situation and resume the attack later, armed with more knowledge and a plan. Battles don't have to be won fast; they have to be won right.

7 Giorno: Supercharging Others

Why is Bruno Bucciarati glowing like that? It's not due to his own stand's powers; Sticky Finger creates zippers. Instead, this was Giorno's doing, and Gold Experience can fire up another person's life energy to push them to the next level.

Doing this past a certain extent will disorient the enemy, and their mind and body go out of sync. That's how Giorno turned the tables on Bucciarati during their brief battle, but if done more gently, Giorno can use this power to bolster any ally.

6 Joseph: Miraculous Escapes

It seems like nothing can kill Joseph Joestar, even when he's facing overwhelming odds. His grandfather Jonathan gave his life to defy Dio, but Joseph isn't ready to die just yet. Not even the Pillar Men forced him to make that kind of sacrifice.

RELATED: The 10 Best Tournaments From Shonen Anime & Manga

At first, Speedwagon and the others were sure that Joseph had given his life to put a stop to the invincible Kars. Who could survive a plane crash, a volcano and an Aztec vampire god? Joseph Joestar, that's who. He even crashed his own funeral.

5 Giorno: Scouting

Some stands are more ideal than others for collecting information or spying on people. Shigechi's Harvest is pretty good, and Narancia's Aerosmith can fly around to watch the terrain and report back with radar pings.

Giorno is also part of the super-scout squad, since he can turn any non-living object into a fly, a snake, a mouse or any other critter that can go around and spy for him with its eyes, ears and nose. This is a great way to locate a dangerous enemy stand user without getting into a fight in the process.

4 Joseph: Decades Of Experience

Joseph may be a senior citizen by the events of Stardust Crusaders, but he's aged well, and he's not finished with adventures yet. During his 65 years on earth, he's seen and done a lot, and it's added up. Giorno, meanwhile, is only 15 during Golden Wind.

RELATED: One Piece: 5 Times Luffy Proved to Be the Best Shonen Protagonist (& 5 Times He Fell Short)

With his vast experience of the world and enemy stand users and vampires alike, Joseph has a solution to just about any problem. Even if he's taken by surprise, he'll have a plan in mind, owing to his creativity and extensive experience.

3 Giorno: Gold Experience Requiem

Most stands are static, and their abilities and appearance are set from the very start. But some other stands are liable to change, and Koichi's Echoes is a good example. And don't forget Gold Experience.

Once Giorno's stand touched the stand arrow, it evolved into Gold Experience Requiem, a nigh-unbeatable stand that took on Diavolo and won. It trapped Diavolo in an unending loop of deaths, tormenting that wicked mob boss and ending his reign of terror for good.

2 Joseph: Hamon And A Stand

Is Joseph Joestar a master of Hamon or a master of stands? Both, of course. He is one of very few characters, perhaps the only one, to be seen using both fighting styles. This gives him a greater degree of flexibility.

If vampires come calling, Joseph's Hamon can blast them away, and if a stand battle begins, Joseph has an answer for that, too. After all, only a stand can destroy a stand, and no amount of Hamon power can overcome that.

1 Giorno: Plant Support

Gold Experience often turns objects into animals, usually to scout something out or distract an enemy. Often, Giorno is ready to make some flora to go with that fauna, and creating plants is more useful than it sounds.

When fighting Koichi, for example, Giorno used rapidly-growing trees (courtesy of his stand) to escape, and he used a giant tree to support a helicopter in midair while fighting the fearsome Cioccolata. Creating vines or trees out of nowhere can change the tide of battle or make a rescue operation easier, that's for sure.

Demon Slayer: The 10 Best Ways The Manga Foreshadowed The Grand Finale

$

0

Foreshadowing is the manga-ka's, like other media, way of dangling that little piece of information hinting at the future in the reader's face, just intriguing enough to keep the reader interested and wanting more. It can be as subtle as being hit upside the head by Mjolnir, or the hint can go entirely unnoticed by the reader until the grand reveal, making the reader swell up with excitement as they start to put each piece of the puzzle together, so they can stand back to see the image that is created.

RELATED: Demon Slayer: The 10 Best Fights In The Anime So Far, Ranked

Koyoharu Gotōge's manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is no stranger to this storytelling tactic, weaving clues into his story, he connects each string so the reader can see the tapestry at the end. Here are Demon Slayer's 10 best ways the manga foreshadowed the grand finale.

10 Tanjiro Meets Giyū

After Nezuko is transformed into a demon, she attacks Tanjiro. Giyū is passing through and notices the struggle between the siblings. He stops them from killing one another but is surprised at their commitment to protecting each other.

He accepts their bond. This action foreshadowed how the rest of the demon slayer core reacted to them. Many did not trust the siblings, some even so far as to attack them, but it was their bond to one another that caused the Demon Slayers to trust them.

9 Tanjiro's First Demon

While Tanjiro and Nezuko are searching for Tanjiro's first swordmaster, they stumble upon a demon. The demon then proceeds to attack them. This is the first instance in the story that a demon's strength and abilities are presented.

It is not until Tanjiro is able to pin the demon to a tree that the ultimate weakness is also shown. The sun rises and incinerates their enemy. The sun is the only absolute way to destroy a demon, foreshadowing the only sure-fire way to destroy Muzan, the first and creator of all demons.

8 Tanjiro Meets Muzan

Tanjiro is sent to investigate a demon in Asakusa. While there he comes upon the sent of the demon that attacked his family and was responsible for turning Nezuko in a demon.

When he approaches the man that cares the sent, he finds out that it is none other than Muzan himself. This meeting is one of the more on the nose, foreshadowings. It is to establish the main antagonist while also providing motivation to Tanjiro and setting up a final clash between the two.

7 Nezuko's Blood Technique

Nezuko has a demon blood technique that allows her to set her blood on fire. When her blood ignites, she can control whether it destroys her target or if it heals them. This can only affect demons and foreshadows Nezuko becoming the first demon to be able to step into the sun.

She gains this power when fighting the spider family early on in the manga. Becoming a demon can be seen as sickness and sunlight as an ailment of that sickness. If Nezuko's blood can burn away the blood and techniques of other demons, then it foreshadowed that her blood could burn away the effects of the sun on a demon's body.

6 Lower Moon's Destruction

The act of Muzan destroying the Lower Moon's foreshadowed the pacing of the manga. The Twelve Moon's are the strongest demons that Muzan created, and they are divided into two groups, the stronger six Upper Moons and the weaker six Lower Moons.

RELATED: Demon Slayer: Which Hero Are You Based On Your MBTI®?

For a battle shounen like Demon Slayer, the character's growth is indicated by defeating stronger and stronger opponents. That is why, when Muzan destroyed the Lower Moons, the pacing of the story changed. It removed opticals for the main characters to defeat, in turn speeding up the story.

5 Demons Like Nezuko

Tamayo was a demon that had assimilated into human society, living in Asakusa. She found a way to live her life amongst humans without the need for feeding on them. Tanjiro and Nezuko meet her on one of their missions.

He then asks if there is a way to turn demons back into humans. Being a skilled doctor, she states that there is a possibility, but she needs Nezuko's blood along with the blood of strong demons. Meeting her points out that there will be a cure, and motivates the cast to fight stronger and stronger opponents.

4 Spider Family

The Spider Family was a group of four demons that had been brought together by Rui the Lower Rank 6. He desired a family, but his idea of one was warped and twisted. He believed that fear should be the determining factor of bringing a family together rather than love.

But as each member was defeated, it is shown that they all had more complexity to them. Rui is the best example of a demon being more than just an evil individual. He tried to recreate a family that he had lost and wanted to feel the same way as he did when he was human. Rui and the Spider Family presented a hint, that the villains would have far more complexity to them than just being evil.

3 Death of Kyojuro

Kyojuro Rengoku was formally the Flame Pillar, one of the strongest Demon Slayers. Kyojuro was set up to be the next teacher of Tanjiro but he was defeated by the Akaza, The Upper rank 3. His death halted any possibility of there being a story arc to develop his relationship with Tanjiro.

RELATED: Demon Slayer: 10 Questions Manga Readers Already Know The Answers To

What it did do is foreshadow the fact that there would be a Game of Thrones-like atmosphere, where no character was safe from a visit from the Grim Reaper and setting up that even fan favorites might not make it to see the end of the story.

2 Puppet Surrendering Sword

Yoriichi Type Zero was a puppet used for training members of the Demon Slayers in the Swordsmith Village. It was created to emulate the movements of Yoriichi Tsugikuni the Breath of Sun user and the creator of all Breathing Techniques.

Tanjiro used it to train and as he was doing so, he destroyed the puppet and revealed a sword inside. This was shown to be Yoriichi's own sword and foreshadows the bond he has, to the creator of all Breath Techniques. Finding the sword correlates with memories from an ancestor that Tanjiro experienced. The sword provided a heavy-handed connection to Yoriichi Tsugikuni.

1 Tanjiro's Scar

Tojiro had a scar on his forehead that he gained when he protected his younger brother from a falling brazer.  It looked like a normal scar until he fought the Hand Demon during the selection to become a Demon Slayer and there started to be a flame-like mark appear.

This foreshadowed the Demon Slayer Mark, a power-up that increases physical abilities, grants the user the ability to see the Transparent World (an ability that grants the user x-ray vision in seeing the human body), and turning their swords into Crimson Red Nichirin Blades granting them even more power to cut demons. It anticipated the next evolution in the Demon Slayer's abilities, while also unlocking a key aspect of worldbuilding.

Yuri!!! On Ice: The MBTI® Personalities Of The Main Characters

$
0
0

Sports animes have always held a special place in the hearts of many anime fans but in 2016, one particular sports title managed to hit the whole world by storm. For once, it wasn't a new installment of Haikyuu!! or Free! but a completely original anime about competitive figure skating.

Related: 10 Anime With Shounen-Ai Elements That Will Melt Your Heart

The critically acclaimed Yuri!!! On Ice has brought in a new wave of anime fans with its concept, but a large amount of fan interest is owed to its characters and their ambiguous queer representation. Coming in a variety of designs, ethnic backgrounds, and personalities, there is no shortage of interesting characters even outside the main cast. In appreciation for the amazing cast of characters brought to life through the anime, here's a look at some of the character's MBTI® type.

10 INFP: Yuuri Katsuki

The first thing that becomes very clear to the audience about the anime's main character is his delicate heart - especially in the face of failure. Yuuri consistently proves to be rather emotional and kind-natured as we can see from him falling into depressive slumps quickly while showing love and care towards family and friends consistently.

That emotional nature makes Yuuri's personality one that resonates most with an INFP. In addition to the aforementioned qualities, Katsuki's more reserved and quiet attitude is not unlike that of this personality type.

9 ENFJ: Victor Nikiforov

In every way, Victor is a clear cut campaigner personality. The Russian exudes a charismatic and fun-loving personality which makes him adored by many fans both within and out of the anime. Much like an ENFJ, he also comes off as free-spirited and emotionally attuned.

It should be noted that neither Victor nor his MBTI® counterparts lack the ability to become serious despite their fun-loving nature. As we see with Victor, though he enjoys maintaining a light-hearted smile and attitude he is quite serious about training Yuuri and pushing him to do his best as his coach.

8 ENTJ: Yuri Plisetsky

Often compared to an angry cat, Yuri - otherwise known as Yurio - is as temperamental as he is passionate and motivated. His drive to achieve his goals may give off the image of stubbornness to many, but its also something revered by many of his competitors within the show.

In that manner, Yurio is much like an ENTJ. Such personalities stop at nothing to accomplish what they want and are known to push past their limits in order to carve their path.

7 INTJ: Otabek Altin

As one of the competitors to make an appearance for the Grand Prix, we don't get to learn much about Otabek in comparison to the main three, but that is also partly due to his quiet and taciturn nature.

Related: Which Yuri On Ice Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

From what we do see, however, Otabek seems to fit into the INTJ personality type. Much like the Architect, it appears that the Kazakh skater prefers staying out of the spotlight when it comes to social settings. However, he displays great focus and dedication towards his field as an INTJ regardless of his aloof nature.

6 ESFJ: Phichit Chulanont

As Yuuri's best friend as well as rink-mate, Phichit's personality stands in parallel to the anime's protagonists in many instances. For one, the Thai skater is consistently optimistic and upbeat - traits often made clear due to his more extroverted nature.

In that sense, Phichit is not dissimilar to an ESFJ as such personalities are known for being people-oriented and quite popular. Additionally, the Consul personality is a perfect fit for this character as we know that he has always helped Yuuri ever since their days as roommates, proving him to be a true friend and source of guidance.

5 ISTJ: Seung-Gil Lee

Despite figure skating being a career that attracts attention, it seems that many skaters are more on the introverted end of the scale. Among them is Seung-Gil who we know to be so aloof, in fact, that he completely dissociates from his surroundings once he's off the rink.

Related: Yuri!!! On Ice: 10 Best Nail-Biting Figure Skating Routines, Ranked

It's not only this character's introversion that makes him an ISTJ though. As we see from his skating programs, Seung-Gil only cares for showcasing his skills in the best way possible with calculating precision; which stands in sharp contrast to the more fanservice filled programs of his competitors.

4 ESFP: Christophe Giacometti

Christophe comes off as having a more sexualized persona from the moment that he is introduced. While within his programs it is one way of showcasing his passion for figure skating, he maintains the same sort of sensual approach outside the rink from what we see of his way of greeting Yuuri for the first time.

The Swiss skater, however, has an undeniably vibrant personality, and that sort of pleasure-seeking personality fits perfectly with an ESFP. Even Christophe's ability to become so engrossed into his own performances is not unlike characteristics exhibited by the Entertainer personality.

3 ESFJ: Emil Nekola

Among the competitors within the Grand Prix, Emil seems to be the most stable of all the personalities present with a mild-mannered nature fitting of a gentleman. This sort of nature leaves him in the position to often be ordered around by Michele Crispino, but one can look at it from the perspective of Emil just wanting to be nice and helpful.

That sort of sociable and kind attitude makes Emil yet another Consul personality on this list, and seeing the shared upbeat nature between the two ESFJ's it makes perfect sense.

2 ISFJ: Michele Crispino

The general rule with Michele is simple: Stay away from his sister. Though that is one of the most defining characteristics of the Italian skater, it is suggestive of a caring and (extremely) protective personality directed towards those he loves.

Such characteristics can commonly be found in an ISFJ which is aptly named as the Protector personality. Unfortunately, just like this personality, Michele is rather reserved - leaving his actions to speak for him more often instead.

1 ENFJ: Jean-Jacques Leroy

Though he makes his debut appearance only at the eighth episode, Jean-Jacques manages to become one of the most iconic side characters with his JJ Style. Though he served as comic relief from the high competitive intensity a lot of the time, he is a complex person in his own right.

As an ENFJ, JJ is charismatic and sociable. His distinct confidence which often lends itself to arrogance is not unlike that of a Protagonist personality. Though whether or not his passion and strength of character alone make him worthy of being a real protagonist remains to be seen.

DC: 5 Marvel Heroes Hawkman Could Defeat (& 5 He Would Lose To)

$

0

Hawkman, or "The Man of Hawks" as AEW's "Broken" Matt Hardy would call him, has been part of DC's superhero scene for a long time. His hero career goes all the way back to the Justice Society of America and up until the present day.

RELATED: DC: 5 Ways Blackest Night Aged Well (& 5 Ways It Didn't)

But thanks to constantly being reincarnated, Hawkman's earliest days go all the way back to Ancient Egypt. He's been in the game for a long time. A well trained fighter with a passion for medieval weapons and Nth metal gear, Hawkman is a formidable foe for almost anyone. But there are a few Marvel heroes who could give him a run for his money.

10 LOSE TO: Valkyrie

Few people have gone on as wild a ride in the Marvel Universe as Jane Foster. Used as a pawn by Odin in his punishment and manipulation of Thor, Foster would become closely associated with the God of Thunder. When he became unworthy of the mighty Mjolnir,  Jane Foster was made the new Thor and wielded the hammer. Then that came to an end, and Foster became Valkyrie. This position has given her incredible powers, so much so that Hawkman would not be able to beat her.

9 DEFEAT: Nova

Sam Alexander inherited the Black Nova helmet that belonged to his missing father, Jesse. When Gamora and Rocket Raccoon found Sam and the helmet, they agreed to help him train to become a Nova like his father.

RELATED: 5 Reasons Why Hawkman’s Thangarian Mace Is DC’s Deadliest Weapon (& 5 Why It’s Aquaman’s Trident of Neptune)

The helmet has given him incredible powers, including flight, strength, and energy blasts. But Sam is still learning how to harness his abilities and has yet to use them to their full potential. That would give the outgunned Hawkman the opening he needs to win.

8 LOSE TO: War Machine

Outside of Punisher, War Machine is the hero that quite literally outguns everyone. That's the entire point of the armor, to be the biggest, baddest weapon in any fight. You don't take a suit of Iron Man armor and cover it in weapons if you don't plan to cause some damage. Not only is the War Machine armor dangerous, but the man inside of it, James Rhodes, is uniquely adept at using it due to his history as a soldier and pilot. Hawkman will be lucky to survive this fight.

7 DEFEAT: Echo

Born deaf, Echo possesses the normal strength, speed, and agility you'd expect for a peak human of her age. But that's not what makes her dangerous. Like Taskmaster, she has photographic reflexes that allow her to perfectly understand and mimic any fighting style after seeing it once.

RELATED: DC: The 5 Most Tragic Villain Origin Stories Of All Time (& The 5 Most Pathetic), Ranked

As such, she is a master of several fighting styles and is deadly with an endless variety of weapons. While Hawkman out-powers her, and would ultimately win, Echo would still make things interesting.

6 LOSE TO: Spider-Man

Originally from Marvel's Ultimate universe of comics, aka Earth-1610, Miles Morales became that world's Spider-Man after the death of Peter Parker and being bitten by a jacked-up spider. Now on Earth-616 with the Peter Parker most fans are familiar with, Miles is still rocking the costume and the name. He has largely the same powers as his namesake as well as a bio-electric "Venom Blast," the ability to camouflage, and a Wolverine level healing factor. Not to put to fine a point on it, but Hawkman is screwed on this one.

5 DEFEAT: Falcon

As one of Captain America's staunchest allies, Falcon has been involved in some of Marvel's biggest battles and is a highly respected hero. Using wings designed by Black Panther and modified by Tony Stark, Falcon can fly but has no powers beyond that, though he is in incredible physical condition and is a well-trained fighter.

RELATED: 10 Things Fans Should Know About Hawkman

He's sometimes depicted as having the ability to telepathically connect with birds, though that is inconsistent throughout the comics. He's tough but Hawkman would outfight him.

4 LOSE TO: Sunfire

As powerful as Sunfire is, he has gone through some hard times. Now a hero again, Apocalypse once manipulated him into becoming a Horseman. He was freed by Mr. Sinister who then used him. Sunfire's mutant abilities generate the superheated state of matter called plasma, allowing him to fly, shoot powerful blasts, and generate incredible heat. He also retained several of the upgrades given to him by Apocalypse. Hawkman is losing this one since it's hard to fly when your wings have been burned to a crisp.

3 DEFEAT: Namora

The less famous cousin of Namor, Namora has been in the superhero business for almost as long as him. She has assisted Namor on a number of missions and adventures, as well as going on a number of her own alongside teams like the Agents of Atlas.

RELATED: Suicide Squad: 5 Members Who Didn't Deserve To Die (& 5 Who Absolutely Did)

Also an Atlantean/Human hybrid, Namora possesses many of the same powers and abilities Namor, she's just less of a jerk about it than him. While she is a powerful and skilled warrior, Hawkman would win this fight.

2 LOSE TO: Archangel

Hawkman can fly, he can fight, and he might even be able to crow, but that only matters if you're a member of the Lost Boys and Captain Hook is chasing you. Archangel was Apocalypse's Horseman of Death, and he lives up to his name. His organic metal wings are razor sharp and fire flechettes loaded with a deadly neurotoxin. You want to be on his side. If Hawkman stepped to him, there wouldn't be much left to identify.

1 DEFEAT: Angel

On the other hand, Angel would get his butt handed to him by Hawkman. The unaltered version of Archangel is quite literally just a guy with wings. He's in great shape and has a body that his mutation has made perfect for flight, but that's not going to be enough to defeat a flying, mace-wielding lunatic. Angel's only hope would be to outmaneuver him until Wolverine got there and could gut Hawkman. Otherwise, he's losing this fight.

Over the years, Izuku has clashed against some of the most heinous criminals, all the while competing with other students who have the same dream as him.

Being one of the best manga series out there, My Hero Academia features some of the most incredible fights that anime fans have ever seen. Here are the 10 best fights in Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia.

10 Izuku Midoriya Vs Gentle Criminal

Izuku Midoriya clashed against Gentle Criminal during the U.A Cultural Festival arc of My Hero Academia. As Gentle finally prepared to announce himself to the world, Midoriya stood in his way and stopped him from accomplishing his goals.

Although Gentle was quite powerful, Midoriya showed off his growth by reading him like a book and then unleashing the power of Air Force on him. To date, this fight remains to be one of the best seen in the series.

9 Mirio Togata Vs Overhaul

Mirio Togata went firing on all cylinders during the raid on the Shie Hassaikai hideout in My Hero Academia Season 4. His clash against Overhaul was expected and Horikoshi made sure to deliver when it arrived.

Mirio proved to be superior to Overhaul in every single aspect of the fight, however, ended up losing after he was hit with a Quirk Erasing Bullet that was meant for Eri. Undoubtedly, this fight remains to be one of the most incredible ones in the series so far.

8 Izuku Midoriya Vs Overhaul

Overhaul was the main antagonist of the Shie Hassaikai arc of the series where he stood as a massive thorn in the side of both the Heroes and the Villains.

He eventually fell at the hands of Midoriya who, using Eri's help, managed to unleash 100% of his Quirk. Using his maximum powers, Midoriya was able to overwhelm Overhaul in an epic battle that blew the fans away.

7 Shigaraki Vs Re-Destro

Shigaraki Tomura and his League of Villains went head-to-head against the Meta Liberation Army, led by none other than Rikiya Yotsubashi, better known as Re-Destro.

Although Shigaraki was completely outclassed in the majority of the fight, he went on to dive into his deepest of past memories which allowed him to awaken his Quirk powers. Once awakened, Shigaraki was able to end the fight with the powers of the Decay Quirk within minutes.

6 Mirko Vs High-Ends

Mirko, the Number 5 Hero, recently took the spotlight in the ongoing arc of My Hero Academia where the Heroes attacked Shigaraki Tomura and his Meta Liberation Army's base of operation.

RELATED:My Hero Academia: 10 Things About Uraraka's Quirk That Make No Sense

Surrounded by multiple High-End Nomus, Mirko, instead of retreating, fought all of them head-on in an incredible battle where she even sacrificed her limbs for the sake of stopping Shigaraki. Although short, this fight was filled with action to the brim, which is why the fans love it.

5 Izuku Midoriya Vs Shoto Todoroki

During the Sports Festival arc, My Hero Academia delivered yet another staggering fight when Izuku took on Shoto in an incredible match-up.

Despite wanting to win, Izuku made sure to help Shoto overcome his past by pushing him to use his fire-side for the first time in a very long time. Relishing the challenge Midoriya posed and accepting his Quirk momentarily, Shoto blasted Midoriya with his full power and ended up winning the fight.

4 Izuku Midoriya Vs Bakugo Katsuki

Midoriya and Bakugo have clashed multiple times throughout the series already and the best of the lot was certainly the one that followed the Kamino incident.

RELATED: My Hero Academia: 5 Times Ochaco Uraraka Was An Overrated Class 1-A Student (& 5 She Was Underrated)

Not only did the two go all-out during this fight, but also managed to relate to each other for the very first time. This fight became a turning point in the relationship between the two and while it did end in Bakugo's favor, he also ended up acknowledging Midoriya as a worthy rival.

3 All Might Vs USJ Nomu

The first display of All Might's true power came during his clash against the USJ Nomu in the very first season of My Hero Academia. The USJ Nomu was created to counter All Might at his 100%, yet the Number One managed to win at the end of the day.

Arriving just in time to save his students, All Might went beyond his 100% and hit the Nomu so fast that he didn't even get a chance to regenerate.

2 All For One Vs All Might

All For One and All Might went head-to-head for the last time in Kamino during the third season of My Hero Academia. Strong as All For One was, he managed to push All Might beyond all his limits and forced him to use his strongest move "United States of Smash" against him.

Although All Might did win the fight, it came at the cost of his fall as the Symbol of Peace, since he ended burning the wisps of One For All that were left in his body.

1 Endeavor Vs Hood

After the fall of All Might, people were faced with the greatest Nomu threat that they had ever faced in a High-End Nomu named Hood. Even someone as strong as Endeavor proved to be weaker than him.

Realizing that All Might was not there to protect them anymore, everyone started to give up when Endeavor stepped up and made the role of "Symbol of Peace" his very own. Just like All Might, he went Plus Ultra and blasted the Nomu with his strongest Prominence Burn, announcing himself as a reliable Number One in the process.

Naruto: Everything You Missed In The Ending, Explained | CBR

After 15 years, Naruto, one of the most powerhouse series that has ever been or ever will be, came to an end. Unfortunately, not all of the fans will be satisfied with the finale. But like many controversies, there is the tendency to skip over key details that could sway an opinion one way or the other, missing these could be significant in how the conclusion could be interpreted.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Times Kakashi Was The Best Mentor (& 5 When It Was Master Jiraiya)

It also opens the door to not seeing little details that were callbacks to earlier chapters or episodes, that really deepens the feeling of nostalgia while coupling it with the satisfaction of finally finding them. This article will present everything you missed at the ending of Masashi Kishimoto's masterpiece, Naruto.

10 Sasuke's Survival And What It Means

Naruto presented his dream of becoming Hokage in the very first episode and chapter of the series. He would tell the audience, over and over again, making sure that they would never forget. But that was his dream; his goal was to save his best friend Sasuke Uchiha.

If Sasuke were to have died, everything that Naruto was trying to teach its audience would have been lost. Its goal was to show that no friend is beyond saving and to save them at any cost. To allow Sasuke to die would contradict the story itself.

9 Kakashi Becoming Hokage

After the Fourth Great Shinobi War, Kakashi is granted the title of Sixth Hokage instead of Naruto.  The reason for this is Naruto's age and his condition after the war. Naruto's situation was different than Gaara's, who was the same age as Naruto when he became the Kazekage.

Gaara was in perfect health and had a personality that was more calculating and mature than Naruto. Kakashi was also considered for Hokage before Tsunade, and even earlier in the Shippuden arc, presenting the fact there is someone available to take the mantle until Naruto is more mature.

8 Madara's Strength

Arguably the strongest character in the entire series, Madara met an anticlimactic end. It has been the frustration of many fans, with justifiable reason. But his death is also understandable. Kishimoto wrote himself into a corner.

Even after powering up Naruto and Sasuke and sacrificing Might Guy, they were not able to defeat him. It felt as if Kishimoto was drawing and thought, "Oh yeah, Naruto needs to win." Because of this, an amazing character had to be defeated in the most frustrating way, so the protagonist could win.

7 Tenten Selling Tools

The final chapter of Naruto wraps up by showing where many of the cast is after growing up. Tenten had opened up a shop selling ninja tools. One of the scenes shows that she is selling three of the five Treasured Tools of the Sage of Six Paths. These tools require an enormous amount of chakra to use and are considered the most powerful ninja tools in the universe.

RELATED: Naruto: 10 Characters Stronger Than The Five Kage, Ranked

The tools had been introduced 5 years before the ending of the series, adding a nice easter egg for the fans. They were an exciting callback to the Great Ninja War.

6 Buddist Ideals

Naruto is heavily influenced by Buddist and Shinto teachings and history. One of the main theologies that the manga/anime addresses is the understanding of another person through sharing their suffering. Sasuke points out to Naruto, early on in the story, that his need for revenge against his brother, comes from the loss of the ones he loves and because Naruto has never had a family, he could never understand those bonds being lost.

That changes by the end of the series; Naruto had lost many people that he held dear, bridging the gap between Sasuke and himself.

5 Headband Passed On

Naruto's most prized possession was the headband Iruka gave him after graduating from the Ninja Acadamy. This makes one of the final scenes of Naruto handing back Sasuke's headband a so powerful.

It is the one that Sasuke marked to show his intention to become a rogue ninja and the one that Naruto had kept with him to represent his resolve to bring Sasuke back into the fold. It is a symbol of great significance that represents the bonds between the two characters.

4 Sakura Tries One Last Time

It is not a secret that Sakura is one of the most hated characters in all of Naruto. Her character development is lax at best, and she falls behind the members of Team Seven so greatly, that she unfortunately becomes a hindrance far more than an advantage, in spite of her advanced medical training under Tsunade.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Toughest Fights Of Sasuke Uchiha (& 5 Easiest)

After Naruto and Sasuke battle at the Valley of the End, Sakura shows up to stop the bleeding of the arms they had lost during their battle.  It is a last-ditch effort to give her any relevance in the manga/anime, and it was mostly hollow and deeply unsatisfying.

3 Homage To One Piece

One of the most obvious and charming details of the final panel of the series is of Naruto's image on the Hokage Mountain with the Straw Hat's Jolly Roger from Ichiro Oda's tour de force One Piece.

It represented the respect that both manga-ka had for one another. Oda showed his respect and admiration for Naruto on the cover of his own manga by placing the Hidden Leaf's symbol on the dress of Nami, one of his own main characters.

2 Length Of War

The length of the entire manga series of Naruto lasted 15 years.  The Fourth Great Shinobi World took up roughly 3 years, from start to finish.  This large publishing time can skew the reader's perspective.

The entire war only took two days to win.  The reason for this is Masashi Kishimoto's dense fight scenes and diverse cast. Each battle scene is produced with the utmost detail, and most characters are given the opportunity to present themselves.

1 Sasuke Narrates

The second to last chapter, Chapter 699, is narrated by Sasuke.  It provides his thoughts for all the events that led up to the end of the story and presented a glimpse into how he felt about Naruto and everything that transpired. What this provides to the audience is a conclusion to his story.

Naruto's thoughts are always shown to the audience, but Sasuke's are not always expressed. By having him narrate a portion of the finale, it gives a closer look into his character and completes Naruto by imparting the ideals of friendship that the story so passionately represents.

Young Justice: Impulse Has His OWN Flashpoint Moment | CBR

WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Young Justice #16, by Brian Michael Bendis, David Walker, Scott Godlewski, Gabe Eltaeb and Wes Abbot, on sale now

Impulse is one of a handful of heroes left in the DC Universe who, through a series of unlikely events, actually remembers the DC Universe that existed before the Flash irrevocably changed the timeline during Flashpoint. However, in Young Justice #16, Impulse reveals in surviving that massive change, he broke some cardinal rules of multiversal travel -- and essentially had his own Flashpoint moment.

RELATED: The Flash's Biggest Fan Is... in the Suicide Squad!?

While there was an incarnation of Bart Allen in the New 52 named Bar Torr (who had a very different life than the Post-Crisis Impulse), the original version reappeared in the Post-Rebirth DC Universe. During Flash War, Barry Allen and Wally West fought Zoom across the timestream, and the Speed Force Barrier was broken open -- allowing Impulse to rush back into the DC Universe. On top of that, he seemed to retain some of the information he knew about the Post-Crisis DC Universe, such as the creation of Young Justice, a team that otherwise didn't exist in the current DC Universe.

Bart quickly helped reform Young Justice and find the incarnation of Superboy that he knew, who was trapped on Gemworld. During their travels, the team learned the truth of how Superboy was trapped in the alternate dimension and therefore was able to survive the reality-shift that came with the creation of the Post-Flashpoint DC Universe. But it turns out that Impulse also ended up outside of reality.

RELATED: The Suicide Squad Got An Unexpected Assist From... A Justice League Member?

As he reveals to Superboy (and a secretly listening Drake), Impulse ended up going head-to-head with Mirror Master at some point in the past. However, a blast from the villain trapped Impulse outside in-between dimensions and outside reality. As a result, his body began crumbling into nothingness, as he was somewhere physical beings weren't meant to exist. Panicking, Impulse made his way into the nearest reality he could, ending up in the core DC Universe decades in the future.

Impulse tried to make his way to the Hall of Justice to find help. He found the building still standing, but outside there were statues commemorating Robin, Wonder Girl, Arrowette and Impulse, who apparently died heroically. Fainting from the shock, Impulse awoke as a patient of Arkham Asylum, under the care of an older Harley Quinn. She revealed that the members of Young Justice disappeared mysteriously, known in the future as the "Bermuda Triangle" of superhero stories. Impulse escaped Arkham and rushed back to the present day.

RELATED: Young Justice Teases More of a Wonder Comics Hero's Origin Story

But when he arrived in the current time period, the universe had been changed. Young Justice no longer existed, and reality was different than he'd known it. The events of Flashpoint and Rebirth had changed the universe. Furious with the way the multiverse had broken its own rules, Impulse decided to ignore the laws he understood about time-travel and using super speed responsibility and made his way through the multiverse looking for friends like Superboy to confirm that he wasn't losing his mind. Despite the risk it posed to the multiverse, Impulse still did so. However, this moment is essentially his own Flashpoint, as it risked the safety of the timeline.

This is somewhat similar to how Barry Allen decided to ignore the laws of time travel to change the past for his own gain and restore his loved ones. The effect of that was to alter the universe and everyone in it, setting up the near-destruction of the timeline. But it's still a wildly irresponsible action to do. It's a reminder of just how powerful speedsters really are thanks to their reality changing abilities. But there may have been an unintended benefit of Impulse being outside reality. It's possible that being between realities actually saved Bart Allen's life, as it meant he was unaffected by Barry Allen's own changes to the timeline and was able to return in his present form.

Star Trek: Scientist Breaks Down Franchise’s Varying Time Travel Methods

Time travel has been a staple of Star Trek over its 50-year run. From time loops to wormholes, the various ways the heroes and villains of the series travel through the ages can difficult to keep track of. Luckily for fans of both Trek and time travel stories, astrophysicist and TV/film scientific consultant Erin Macdonald laid out the eleven different methods for time travel shown throughout the history of the franchise.

Macdonald, who is the host of the YouTube show Dr. Erin Explains the Universe, shared a photo of a dry-erase board which includes categories of different time travel methods and the episodes and movies that featured them. The notes came from a talk Macdonald presented, "Time Travel in Star Trek."

RELATED: NASA May Have Just Confirmed a Parallel Mirror Universe (Yes, Really)

Macdonald's categories include slingshot (as famously shown in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home), gravitational well/time dilation/time bubble, wormholes/gates, time loop, warp malfunction/exotic energy, alternate reality/decision multiverse, mental time travel, temporal anomalies/fractures, transporter/stasis, time particles/crystals and total control (referring to direct manipulations of time by the temporal agent Daniels or the omnipotent entity Q). Under each category is the episode or movie that features these approaches to time travel. However, these lists do not include ongoing Trek series, so the time travel plotline from Star Trek: Discovery has been excluded. Other time travel methods mentioned on the board but not given episodes or movies that depict them include "out of phase," temporal incursions, chronitons and metreons (both fictional subatomic particles).

CBS Fires MacGyver, Magnum P.I. Showrunner for Sexist, Racist Behavior

As more and more companies face sexual and racial allegations head-on, CBS announced that it fired Hawaii Five-0, Magnum P.I. and MacGyver showrunner Peter Lenkov after an investigation into claims of sexist and racist behavior.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the showrunner had three complaints filed against him alleging manipulative and abusive behavior on the set of Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver. He allegedly ran a "boys club" where he and his favorite male employees smoked cigars and inappropriately judged the appearances of women. He also seeming gave preferential treatment to male actors over actresses when it came to granting special work schedule accommodations and talked down to writers — especially women and people of color.

In a statement, a CBS TV Studios spokesperson said that "Peter Lenkov is no longer the executive producer overseeing MacGyver and Magnum P.I., and the studio has ended its relationship with him. Monica Macer will be the showrunner on MacGyver and Eric Guggenheim will run Magnum P.I. Both are currently executive producers on their respective series."

RELATED: Former Dark Horse/TFAW Employee Alleges Racism, Abuse From High Level Figures

They went on to speak about the company's commitment to making a better work environment. "Our studio is committed to ensuring safe and respectful production environments," the spokesperson said. "Over the past year, we have assigned human resource production partners to every show, expanded staff training and increased reporting options. We will continue to evolve our practices with continued focus on building trust with all who work on our sets. Every complaint is taken seriously, every claim is investigated, and when evidence is clear that policies were violated and values not upheld, we take decisive action."

"He isn't racist or sexist or classist singularly — it's all of it," an insider told The Hollywood Reporter. "He's anti-woman, anti-POC, anti-gay and everything you'd expect. But he'd also torture straight, white men if he felt like it."

Lenkov released his own statement after the firing. "Now is the time to listen and I am listening," he said. "It's difficult to hear that the working environment I ran was not the working environment my colleagues deserved, and for that, I am deeply sorry. I accept responsibility for what I am hearing and am committed to doing the work that is required to do better and be better."

Justice League: Wonder Woman Proves to Be the Best Team Member - AGAIN

Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Justice League #48 by Si Spurrier, Aaron Lopresti, Matt Ryan, David Baron and Tom Napolitano, on sale now.

Wonder Woman is one of the most powerful superheroes the world has ever seen. Lately, the princess has made a case for being the best member of the Justice League and in the latest issue, she proves once again how formidable she can be.

Answering a distress call from outer space, the Justice League encounters an alien creature that none of them recognizes attacking a spaceship. When it is confirmed that no one on the team is familiar with the creature, Wonder Woman suggests consulting the Green Lantern Xenotype Directory before engaging, in order to ascertain exactly what it is they're dealing with.

Related: Justice League: Whatever Happened to the Justice Lords?

Team leader Green Lantern disagrees with Diana, fearing there is no time to consult the directory. He and the other members of the League instead opt to battle the mysterious creature. As Green Lantern creates light constructs and Superman tries to figure out which part of the creature to target, Wonder Woman suddenly disappears from the battle.

Batman teleports Flash into the ship and the speedster discovers that the crew is comprised of alien children. This presents a new urgency and dilemma for the team; they don't want to seriously hurt the creature without at least first knowing its motives, but at the same time don't want to risk the creature breaching the hull and putting the lives of the children in jeopardy.

While the majority of the team ponders its next move, Wonder Woman suddenly swoops past pushing a large asteroid in front of her. She hurls the asteroid into space and the creature releases the ship and flies into space after the rock.

Related: Batman: How the Joker Improved the MCU's Most Controversial Twist

While the rest of the League stands stunned, Wonder Woman reveals the creature was merely trying to protect its mate that was buried within the asteroid. When asked how she knew, Diana says she checked the directory while the others were "figuring out what to punch."

Later in the issue, Diana shows better governing skills than the rest of the team as well. When an alien society overthrows and is about to execute a tyrannical leader, the League stops them from dispensing what Batman calls "mob justice." Wonder Woman believes the society should be left to handle their problems on their own and in their own way and that the League should not force its own views about how society should be run on the aliens. Again, the team does not listen to Diana and pays the price in the end.

This is not the first time Diana has shown herself to be more capable than the other Justice League members. In the past two issues alone, Wonder Woman has proven smarter than Batman and stronger than the combined might of all of her teammates. In Justice League #46, Diana proved capable of taking the reins of field leadership when she effectively lead the team into battle.

There is no doubt Wonder Woman is a great hero and an even greater asset to the Justice League. Diana has proven herself to not only be the powerhouse of the team, but arguably its most formidable member.

Sailor Moon: 5 Pokémon Sailor Moon Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

$

For almost thirty years, fans of all ages have been thrilled by the adventures of Sailor Moon. One of the most popular manga and anime imports from Japan, Sailor Moon fights for love and justice, defending the universe from the darkest of evil. While she seems flighty and a bit boy crazy in her civilian identity of Usagi Tsukino, she is all business as Sailor Moon in her battle against evil.

RELATED: 10 Sailor Moon Redraws That We Love

Another extremely popular Japanese import, Pokémon has inspired generations of fans to catch 'em all in the franchise's super-popular video games and collectible card games. It's also spawned multiple manga and anime and more merchandise than someone can shake a stick at. These powerful creatures took the world by storm and there are few signs of them letting up. So, which Pokémon would Sailor Moon be able to defeat? Which ones would defeat her?

10 Could Defeat: Charizard

A powerful Generation I fan favorite, this Fire/Flying-type is one of the most popular and powerful Pokémon. While Charizard's flying ability would allow it to avoid a lot of Sailor Moon's attacks and get in some powerful offense of its own, Usagi has dealt with more powerful foes in her day.

Charizard is fast and maneuverable, but it doesn't bring much to the fight that Sailor Moon hasn't encountered before. She has been known to pull victory from the jaws of certain defeat and this battle would be no different.

9 Would Lose To: Eternatus

Eternatus is a Legendary Dragon/Poison-type Pokémon. The tallest known Pokémon, it can absorb massive amounts of energy. When it does, it transforms into the more powerful Etrenamax Eternatus and becomes even more difficult to hurt. Sailor Moon is formidable, but against Eternatus, she would be outclassed.

Eternatus can absorb all of Sailor Moon's attacks and use the energy against her. The harder she fights, the more powerful it will become, spelling doom for Sailor Moon. For once, her wherewithal would be her undoing.

8 Could Defeat: Sirfetch'd

Sirfetch'd is a Fighting-type Pokémon. Sirfetch'd carries a sword and shield made from a massive leek and its leaves and while that doesn't sound like much, its more dangerous than meets the eye. As skilled as they can be, Sirfetch'd just cannot stand up to the power and skill of Sailor Moon.

RELATED: 10 Anime To Watch If You Love Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon would take Sirfetch'd for granted at first, thinking it was cute but once it attacked her, she would wise up and use her vast power and skill to take it out.

7 Would Lose To: Necrozma

Necrozma is a Legendary Psychic-type Pokémon. A very powerful Pokémon, the thing that will allow it to triumph over Sailor is its ability to absorb light...even the light of the moon. Necrozma is a savage combatant, attacking its foes with its claws, lasers, and anything around it.

Sailor Moon is used to dealing with implacable foes, but she's rarely encountered anyone or anything as savage as Necrozma. It would absorb her attacks and then just keep coming at her. Sailor Moon just would not be able to cope with its power and monstrous nature.

6 Could Defeat: Heracross

A Bug/Fighting-type Pokémon, Heracross are powerful attackers who chitinous outer shells allow them to take a lot of damage. While they can be quite formidable, Sailor Moon is more than powerful to deal with a bug that can fight well.

While Heracross might be able to get the drop on Sailor Moon, she would get her bearings quickly and fight back against it. She would use her energy attacks to get some separation from Heracross before taking it out with her powerful tiara throw attack, Moon Tiara Action.

5 Would Lose To: Zacian

A Legendary Fairy-type Pokémon, Zacian is basically the One-Punch Man of the Pokémon universe. Zacian is said to be able to cut down any foe with one hit and has a second, more powerful form known as Crowned Sword form. However, in either form, Zacian would be able to defeat Sailor Moon.

RELATED: Sailor Moon: Which Hero Are You, Based On Your Zodiac-type?

Sailor Moon would be able to avoid Zacian's attacks for a while and hit it back but eventually it would land a strike and that would be all it took to beat Sailor Moon. Zacian's skills are just too formidable for Sailor Moon.

4 Could Defeat: Ursaring

A Normal-type Pokémon, Ursarings are large and powerful. Highly protective of their young, they can be fierce combatants. However, when it comes right down to it, they are just giant bears and Sailor Moon has dealt with lots of foes that are tougher than giant bears.

Sailor Moon wouldn't mess around when she saw Ursaring coming at her. It's large and fierce enough for her to know not to take any chances, so she'd go all out using her energy attacks to keep it at bay and take it out with some Moon Tiara Action.

3 Would Lose To: Mewtwo

A powerful and savage Psychic-type Pokémon, Mewtwo was designed to destroy its opponents. Cold and calculating, its vast psychic powers give it the edge over Sailor Moon. It can defend itself against her strongest attacks and hit her with psychic attacks she has no defense against.

Sailor Moon has rarely faced a creature so bent on the destruction of its enemies as Mewtwo. Its psychic skills give it all kinds of options for both attack and defense. If it so wanted it, Mewtwo could easily erase Sailor Moon's mind, leaving her little more than a husk.

2 Could Defeat: Pikachu

The mascot of the entire franchise, Pikachu is an Electric-type Pokémon that is very powerful, especially the one teamed with Ash. However, in a battle between merchandising titans, Sailor Moon easily takes the victory, even if having to fight something so cute would be hard for her.

That cuteness would protect Pikachu for a bit, but Sailor Moon is just way too powerful for Pikachu. It would be able to get some offense off but once Sailor Moon really started fighting, she'd make short work of Pikachu.

1 Would Lose To: Arceus

Arceus is a Mythical Normal-type Pokémon. Legend has it that it is the creator of the universe and its wide variety of skills and powers make it near unstoppable in battle. Though Sailor Moon has faced some powerful foes over the years and beat them, she's never defeated the creator of a universe.

Arceus can freeze time, undo any damage done to it or things around it, and is just next level powerful. Sailor Moon would give it a try but Arceus doesn't stop until those who stand against it are defeated. Against the power Arceus brings to bear, Sailor Moon has no chance.

10 Anime Genres & Their Best Entry-Level Series | CBR

$
0
0

Despite what might be suggested by streaming services, anime is not a genre. It is a huge industry that covers a wide range of story types, all of which target specific audiences and age groups. While action shounen series like One Piece and My Hero Academia tend to hog the limelight, they are merely the tip of the iceberg. Anime is a diverse and magnificent entity that has something for everyone.

RELATED: Tiger And Bunny: 10 More Superhero Anime For Fans To Enjoy

It can be intimidating to jump into a new or niche genre, especially one that does not seem to complement a person's normal viewing preferences. As such, picking an ideal entry-level series is important, as starting with certain shows can be the equivalent of jumping into the deep end of a pool.

10 Shoujo Romantic Comedy: Maid Sama!

Most people either love or hate romantic comedies, and that holds true for anime. As a whole, most shows of this genre tend to focus on the chase rather than the actual romance; consequently, there tends to be plenty of oblivious protagonists.

Maid Sama! illustrates many of the tropes associated with shoujo romantic comedies: A slow build, overly romanticized characters, and a lot of heartwarming moments. It just so happens to feature some of the most likable personalities in the genre, including a central couple – Misaki and Usui – who have fantastic chemistry. It also pushes comedy to the forefront a lot.

9 Horror: Ghost Hunt

Horror is a difficult genre to recommend to the uninitiated, as its best stories tend to be harsh and provocative. Anime is also not overly stacked with exceptional horror series, and the genre's greatest offerings, such as Mononoke and Shiki, require patience to fully appreciate.

Split into eight cases, Ghost Hunt follows a teenage investigator and his reluctant assistant as they take on strange supernatural cases that use elements from Japanese mythology. The mini-arcs are universally entertaining and also ramp up the horror as they go along, making Ghost Hunt especially welcoming to first-time viewers.

8 Josei: Usagi Drop

Like shounen and shoujo, josei refers to a market rather than a genre; however, it is lesser-known than the previous two and also a touch more focused. As it targets an adult female audience, josei series tend to explore realistic relationships and star mature characters. Usagi Drop is not only a great introduction to this category, but it is also one of the best josei series ever released.

RELATED: 10 Best Josei Anime Of The 2000s

After the death of his grandfather reveals that he had a daughter nobody knew about, Daikichi Kawachi decides to raise the girl, Rin, when he realizes she is being shunned by his family. Usagi Drop is a heartwarming tale of love, family ties, and personal growth. The anime also ends on a perfect note, something the manga cannot claim.

7 Sports: Run With The Wind

Sports anime are a weird bunch. The genre has produced some incredibly popular shows, but it remains a niche genre that – on the surface – might not seem all that appealing to many people. Regardless of the highlighted activity, sports anime are always about their characters.

Run with the Wind starts off slowly but builds towards an exhilarating second cour of episodes. Not only does it have a satisfying conclusion, something Hajime no Ippo and Slam Dunk's anime cannot claim, but Run with the Wind delivers tournaments, a large roster of diverse but likable characters, and even a couple of tears. It is also only 23 episodes.

6 Mecha: The Big O

Another genre that often struggles to attract new viewers, mecha series come in many shapes, sizes, and sub-genres. Mobile Suit Gundam and Neon Genesis Evangelion are both classified as mecha anime but they are completely different types of series, and neither are particularly great entry points into the genre.

The Big O combines elements from both super robot and real robot series, offering a blend of over-the-top, almost magical action along with more grounded realism. Western audiences have also historically appreciated this anime.

5 Shoujo Ai: YuruYuri: Happy Go Lily

Shoujo Ai refers to anime featuring predominantly female casts that hint at same-sex relationships without ever getting explicit. Most incorporate slice of life and "cute girls doing cute things" elements, so YuruYuri: Happy Go Lily could be seen as a gateway anime for all three categories.

Centering around the four members of a middle school's Amusement Club, YuruYuri: Happy Go Lily is lighthearted nonsense that simply lets its endearing characters be themselves. The first season is the weakest of the three available, but it is still a decent watch.

4 Slice Of Life: Laid-Back Camp

There are a lot of slice of life anime out there, which are stories that do not have continuous plots and revolve around the everyday lives of their characters. Laid-Back Camp is about a school camping club and its members, along with one outsider, who go on multiple trips.

RELATED: The 15 Best Slice Of Life Anime, Ranked

There is no romance, tension, or action. Laid-Back Camp devotes itself completely to showing scenic locations and realistically portraying the travels of its girls. It is a pure slice of life show that is very accessible.

3 Yaoi: Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - World's Greatest First Love

Yaoi caters to such a specific audience that it is difficult to imagine anyone stumbling into the genre without any prior knowledge of its contents. Nevertheless, Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi - World's Greatest First Love is an ideal starting point for those seeking a sample of yaoi anime. The story revolves around an editor who is transferred to a manga division and ends up working under a former boyfriend who once broke his heart.

Like any yaoi series, Sekai Ichi Hatsukoi has its share of romantic scenes, but it also does a great job of developing the relationship between its leads. It is also capable of being genuinely hilarious and disarmingly heartfelt, two traits the genre's riskier entries often struggle to offer.

2 Sci-Fi: Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop qualifies as an action, western, adventure, noir, and sci-fi series; more than anything, it is a show that has served as a gateway into the anime industry for many people. Directed by Shinichirō Watanabe, Cowboy Bebop imagines a future when humans have spread across the Solar System while leaving Earth behind.

It centers around the crew of the Bebop spaceship, bounty hunters with complex backstories that are revealed gradually throughout the anime. While Steins;Gate and Legend of the Galactic Heroes are better sci-fi series, Cowboy Bebop is the genre's best introductory anime.

1 Harem: Nisekoi

Harem comes with a lot of baggage and an awful reputation. The genre's greatest series are either primarily comedies (Ouran High School Host Club), uncomfortably dark (The Fruit of Grisaia), or self-aware (The World God Only Knows). All of these are excellent in their own right, but they are not especially representative of the bulk of the harem series out there.

Nisekoi, however, condenses all of the genre's tropes into one helpful package, and it covers them well for the most part. There are childhood promises of love, girls falling out of the woodwork to be with the protagonist, and enough blushing cheeks to light up a runway.

5 Reasons Why Cobra Commander Is The Best Cobra Leader (& 5 Why It's Serpentor)

Without the inclusion of Cobra, “the ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world,” in the ‘80s iteration of G.I. Joe, it’s doubtful the toyline would have been as successful as it was. Part of Cobra’s appeal was the aesthetic designs of its vehicles and agents, the distinct and dastardly personalities of its upper-ranking personnel, and the characterization of its leadership.

RELATED: 10 GI Joe Characters We Wish Appeared In The Live-Action Movies

Throughout the cartoon’s run, Cobra had two leaders: the hiss-pering Cobra Commander and the bellowing Serpentor. Each had their own distinct style of leadership that had its believers and detractors, but the question remains: who was the better leader?

10 COBRA COMMANDER: His Experience

Cobra Commander might not be the bravest Cobra operative out there, but he’s definitely one of the most experienced. Aside from founding and running the organization for years, he’s had a direct hand in recruiting operatives and designing missions for at least seventy-seven episodes.

He’s well-versed in planning, finding funding, stockpiling, and staffing his organization, and his years of experience and knowledge towards that end make him uniquely placed to run Cobra.

9 SERPENTOR: He Has Superior Genetics

A product of genetic engineering, Serpentor carries the DNA of the world’s most notorious conquerors, including Julius Caesar, Hannibal, and Genghis Kahn. As his file card states, Serpentor’s “thoughts [...] have not drifted from global conquest since the reign of King Solomon,” and he’s got the pedigree to put his thoughts into action.

Quite simply, conquest is bred into Serpentor’s very essence, and considering the centuries of victories he’s got behind him, he’s Cobra’s best chance to do it.

8 COBRA COMMANDER: He's A Creative Strategist

Say what you want about the efficacy of Cobra Commander’s plots for world domination, but they’re creatively inspired. Under his watch, Cobra managed to alter climate around the globe, cut power to all forms of electronics for most of the world, control radio and television programming, and destroy American currency.

Granted, not all his schemes were as inspired (carving his face into the moon and hiring ghosts for his army comes to mind), but the fact that many of his schemes came within a hair’s breadth of succeeding speaks to his effectiveness as Cobra’s leader.

7 SERPENTOR: He's Fearsome

Keeping the back-stabbing and plotting psychopaths that comprise the Cobra organization in-line requires a forceful leader. In the fine Machiavellian tradition, Serpentor is both feared and loved by his followers but mostly feared.

RELATED: 10 Most Powerful Secret Organizations In Marvel Comics, Ranked

This is probably due to his hostile and violent temperament, which more often than not ends in one of his underlings being physically manhandled. His origin as a clone of history’s most notorious conquerors probably adds to his fearsome aura, as few would probably dare plot or attack against someone who carries Alexander the Great or Napoleon’s DNA.

6 COBRA COMMANDER: He's Resourceful

In Sunbow’s animated continuity,Cobra Commander was a citizen of Cobra-La, an ancient civilization that ruled the earth before the Ice Age forced them to retreat under a polar ice dome. Tasked by its leader, Golobulus, to go into the world and conquer it, Cobra Commander managed to create a huge and powerful paramilitary organization that has come close to world domination seemingly overnight.

With such a daunting and downright impossible task, the Commander’s ability to create Cobra from nothing speaks to his resourcefulness and ability to be an effective leader.

5 SERPENTOR: He's An Expert Military Strategist

Serpentor’s choleric temper often clouds his thought processes. If he could overcome his propensity towards anger and channel his genetically constructed memory to the creation of viable military tactics, Cobra would be unstoppable. Imagine an army with the mind that conceived moving elephants over the Alps, laying siege to a siege, and that conquered most of Asia calmly and rationally plotting world conquest; there’s no doubt it would be successful.

RELATED: The 10 Silliest Weapons & Vehicles In GI Joe Lore (That We Still Love Anyway)

Despite his impatient anger Serpentor managed to overrun Washington DC in his first major outing, so with a little patience and some anger management classes, he could be even more effective a leader.

4 COBRA COMMANDER: His Secrecy

For underground paramilitary organization with designs for world domination, secrecy should be at the very top of the list of priorities. Cobra Commander not only managed to keep his hideouts, plans, and sleeper cells shrouded in mystery for years, he managed to do so with his identity as well.

Even his closest operatives and advisors had no clue who was under that tin-plated mask or hood, and for all they knew, the Cobra Commander could have been several individuals. For an organization whose success is dependent on clandestine operations, the Cobra Commander would be their best option for a leader.

3 SERPENTOR: He's Always Battle Ready

A leader should be able to handle himself in a fight, especially if you're aiming to lead a cadre of mercenaries in an attempt at world domination. Serpentor is more than capable of handling himself in a fight and is usually chomping at the bit to prove it.

His strength is considerable, as he was able to manhandle Sgt. Slaughter and several B.A.T.S. with relative ease. He’s also probably forgotten more martial techniques than anyone could hope to learn, via his access to the memories of the warriors who contributed to his genetic makeup.

2 COBRA COMMANDER: His Knack For Self-Preservation

Cobra Commander’s reputation for bravery isn’t exactly sterling, but what one individual calls cowardice another can call a greatly developed instinct for self-preservation.

Knowing that the future of Cobra resides with him, it makes sense that Cobra Commander would want to preserve the mind that nearly conquered the world on several occasions. With the fate of the Cobra World Order resting firmly on his shoulders, preserving it at all costs makes him a responsible leader.

1 SERPENTOR: His Bravery

Serpentor’s temperament is notorious for being replete with impatience and anger, but the one thing he can’t be accused of is cowardice. Serpentor has no qualms about joining a fight head-on, as one of his first acts was to battle Sgt. Slaughter throughout the Terror-Drome.

He also had no problem luring Destro’s ancestral monster away from Cobra forces, nor attempting to intercept the Cobra-La assassin directly at the beginning of G.I. Joe: The Movie. He may be ill-tempered, but he’s fearlessly brave, which would suit a Cobra leader nicely.

Which Yuri On Ice Character Are You, Based On Your Chinese Zodiac?

In 2016 Yuri!! On Ice hit the anime community by storm as its popularity extended past the usual sports anime fanbase and gained worldwide recognition and awards. The anime brought in many new fans and for good reason as it held tons of queer representation and a variety in its cast of characters coming from all across the globe.

Related: 10 Anime With Shounen-Ai Elements That Will Melt Your Heart

In fact, Yuri!! On Ice introduces a cast of characters diverse in many ways, as no two characters seem to be the same in personality either. With such diversity, you're bound to find one which represents you one way or the other, so why not see which character most represents you according to your Chinese zodiac?

12 Rat: Seung-Gil Lee

Starting off with this year's zodiac, those born into the Rat zodiac are known to be calculating and smart. They have sharp observation skills that allow them to make the most out of their surroundings to their benefits.

In many ways, Seung-Gil is the perfect representation of this zodiac. He is rather aloof which fits with the lack of communication skills common for this zodiac. More than that, he expresses much of the same calculating nature as we see of his focus on tallying his score rather than focusing on his performance and intense observation of Yuuri's performance.

11 Ox: Otabek Altin

The Ox zodiac is one that is revered in Chinese mythology for its representation of hard work and diligence. As such, it comes as no surprise that those born in this year are often viewed as honest, hard-working, and determined.

To that degree, Ox zodiacs will find themselves relating to Kazakh skater the most. From what we know of Otabek's backstory he is very driven when it comes to skating. With his international training and all the awards he's won ever since his senior debut, his diligence is one to envy for anyone outside this zodiac.

10 Tiger: Victor Nikiforov

The Tiger zodiac is one full of energy. People born in the year of the Tiger are usually thought to be brimming with energy, confidence, and unpredictability at times. Sound familiar?

Related: Which My Hero Academia Character Are You Based On Your Chinese Zodiac Sign?

Victor's personality is almost synonymous with what this zodiac represents. If his confidence and consistent energy throughout the series isn't enough for people of this zodiac to relate to, he also possesses the same charm and love for a good challenge.

9 Rabbit: Yuuri Katsuki

People born in the year of the Rabbit are known to be very polite, kind-natured, and gentle. To that effect, the anime's main protagonist is the best representation of this zodiac.

Yuuri embodies both the positives and negatives of a Rabbit throughout the anime. Though he is rather gentle and polite to the point of frequent embarrassment, he is prone to bouts of melancholy from what we see of his reaction to failure. Additionally, he has much of the same seemingly out of character stubbornness this zodiac is known for.

8 Dragon: Jean-Jacques Leroy

With the dragon being the only mythical creature out of all the zodiacs, it feels only fitting that someone born this year would find themselves relating to someone as iconic and legendary as JJ.

Dragon zodiacs are known for their bold personalities and ambition, and the Canadian skater doesn't disappoint by means of his loud enthusiasm and confidence. Of course, he also shares a common lack of self-awareness when it comes to arrogance or faults.

7 Snake: Lilia Baranovskaya

While the snake has negative connotations in the west, within Chinese mythology it is a creature of wisdom and calm. Much like their representative animal, people born to this zodiac are often seen to be intelligent people making for good teachers.

From what we see of Yurio's coach throughout the anime, she represents many of the attributes this zodiac is known for. Outside of her wisdom by experience that helps guide the young Russian skater, she shares the same hate for defeat and determination to accomplish goals that Snakes are known for.

6 Horse: Kenjirou Minami

Though the focus on Kenjirou lasts for one short episode, his loud personality quickly establishes him as someone Horse zodiacs would be able to relate to.

Perhaps owing to his youth, Kenjirou exhibits a lot of energy and seems to have a rather animated personality that makes for intense emotional expression. Additionally, Kenjirou delights in the spotlight much like this zodiac which makes for a perfect career in figure skating.

5 Goat: Emil Nikola

Goat zodiacs make for the perfect gentleman. Though they are mild-mannered, they are kind people who sympathize with others and treat them with kindness. As such, the Czech skater is one this zodiac can easily find themselves relating to.

Related: Which Sailor Scout Are You Based On Your Chinese Zodiac Sign?

Emil embodies much of the gentle nature of the Goat zodiac, and he tends to be easier to push around than others from what is seen of his interactions with Michele - something many Goats might, unfortunately, find relatable. However, that downfall is only a small part of the kind and caring personality of both Emil and this zodiac.

4 Monkey: Christophe Giacometti

Those born in the year of the Monkey are commonly considered to be light-hearted and fun-loving if not a little eccentric. As far as the fun-loving and eccentric goes, there is no better person to represent Monkeys than the sensual Swiss skater.

Christophe has a distinct presence and charm that attracts many fans to him on and off the ice which is part of a personality as magnetic as that of this zodiac. Additionally, he is no stranger to the love of mischief and light teasing as we see of his attempts to fluster Yuuri upon their first meeting.

3 Rooster: Yuri Plysetsky

The Rooster seems best represented by the quality of being bombastic, but not without good reason. People of this zodiac tend to acquire their confidence from their skills, determination, and intelligence - something Yurio is not unfamiliar with.

Yuri holds much of the drive characteristic of Roosters but is most notably similar to this zodiac in his perfectionism and blunt criticism. The young Russian can be quite foul-mouthed and threatening when angered as well, and from his introduction, we get the sense that, like the Rooster, he isn't someone to mess with.

2 Dog: Phichit Chulanont

As man's best friend in both reality and myth, the Dog zodiac is characterized by their kind and helpful nature. People born to this zodiac will find themselves easily represented in the Thai skater who proves himself to be a good friend to Yuuri throughout the series.

Much like the zodiac, Phichit is quite energetic and genuine which makes him a rather positive presence that stands in sharp contrast to Yuuri's sometimes pessimistic outlook. Additionally, Phichit's upbeat personality gives him much of the same popularity that Dog zodiacs are known to have.

1 Pig: Yuuko Nishigori

While pigs hold a negative image in the west, they hold positive connotations in Chinese mythology. This zodiac is specifically known for its optimistic and gentle nature.

Yuuko is someone Pigs will find themselves relating too from the start as she isn't really a character which stands out in comparison to the skaters but still holds such a positive presence full of cheer and support for her childhood friend. Additionally, like this zodiac, her upbeat and easy-going personality makes it easy for others to trust her as was the case with Yurio.

Naruto: 5 D&D Monsters Hinata Can Destroy (& 5 That Would Put Up A Good Fight)

$
0
0

In terms of power levels within Naruto, Hinata isn't exactly near the top. She's even bordering on one of the low tiers considering most fights that involve her in up with being beaten, oftentimes rather handily. Still, she does possess a fair bit of power thanks to the Byakugan, and she is still a chunin level ninja.

RELATED: 15 Best Naruto & Hinata Moments, Ranked

That would still put her at a higher level than a fair bit of creatures in the Forgotten realm, but not all of them. There is honestly more than a few that she wouldn't even stand a chance against, being thrown by the waste side with absolute ease. Those won't be counted though, only those that would provide her an interesting fight.

10 Destroy: Tribal Warrior

Tribal warriors can be dangerous in numbers, just as any sort of indigenousness people can. They aren't complete pushovers as some of the lower challenge mobs are in Dungeons & Dragons, but they are far from a big threat. Someone like Hinata could handle more than a few of them at once, thanks to her Byakugan. Those eyes would easily let her track their strikes as they were coming in, disposing of them with quick counters.

9 Put Up Fight: T-Rex

Tyrannosaurus Rex's were the top of the food chain for a long time for a reason. Their size may make them easy to hit for someone like Hinata, but all it would take is one solid bite down, and it'd be game over. With the size of the dinosaur's jaw, there's little more you can do than evade when it comes swooping down for you. Hinata could do that successfully but it remains to be seen if she could truly take it down by herself. The fact she's more of a melee centric fighter may limit her too much.

8 Destroy: Tiger

Tigers are dangerous hunters in the wild, able to take down a wide variety of prey, but Hinata is a ninja, something far greater than anything the beast has come up against. There's no doubt it'd be able to stalk her and maybe even land a blow should Hinata's guard not be up.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Times Hinata Was Wrong (& 5 Times She Was Smarter Than We Thought She Was)

Once an actual battle broke out, it'd be game over for the striped predator. For all it's cunning, it wouldn't be able to withstand more than one or two blows before keeling over. Even animals can figure out when they've been outmatched.

7 Put Up Fight: Troll

Trolls are ugly creatures, no matter the medium you see them in. They are large and lumbering monsters who aren't always the brightest bulbs around, but they make up for that in their sheer strength. Even someone like Hinata would be sent flying if struck by one of the trolls massive clubs. If its strength weren't enough, it also has the power of regeneration, making it even tankier than it's already big frame does. This would end up a fight of attrition.

6 Destroy: Thug

Thugs are just that, untrained and often relatively unskilled men and women who just prey on the timid. They can brawl decently enough, but the difference between that and a skilled fighter is like night and day. Even someone like Hinata would be able to dodger their wild attacks, deftly countering until they were beaten into submission. Even in higher numbers, the odds would still very much be stacking in Hinata's favor.

5 Put Up Fight: Treant

These aren't your Lord of the Rings-style treants, the ones who could take about five years to decide if they are ever going to make an action. In this realm, they aren't afraid to get their hands dirty if they have to, being firmly in the chaotic good category.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Great Things Hinata Has Done Over The Years (& 5 She’d Rather You Forget About)

While their size makes them physically imposing, what makes them so dangerous is their ability to summon minions, in the form of other trees. They gain the same abilities as the treant as well, only lacking in intelligence, making them the perfect foot soldiers for battle.

4 Destroy: Mephit

Mephit's are elemental imps, coming in a variety of different elements, one above being smoke. Their strength isn't that great, lacking greatly in comparison to elementals. They can still be a little bit of a nuisance in high numbers, however, particularly due to the fact they explode when they die. If you get enough of them together, that could set off a huge chain reaction that could down even the strongest of foes. As a singular entity, they aren't very tough though.

3 Put Up Fight: Stone Golem

Golems are nothing to sneeze at, stone golems especially. Their ability to slow targets down forces you to go toe to toe with them, and given their body, that's a battle few are going to win. Their frame is more than sturdy enough to take blows from Hinata without flinching. Even some of her clans more advanced techniques wouldn't have the same effect on a creature like this. It's one of those battles where the deck would be stacked against her for a change.

2 Destroy: Skeleton

Skeletons, along with zombies, and goblins are the go-to starter monsters for parties. They are such an easy mob to both handle and control. They don't do anything too special and are very simple to dispose of, which is exactly what Hinata would do. A single palm strike from her would probably be enough to make the foe nothing more than a pile of bones on the floor. Heck, she might be able to turn a few of them into dust.

1 Put Up Fight: Spirit Naga

Naga's are incredibly dangerous foes, especially when they are capable of casting spells as the Spirit Naga can. They aren't just low-grade attacks either, Naga having the ability to assault their opponent's mind just as much as their body. Dominate person being a particularly dangerous one that could give Hinata all sorts of trouble. If that weren't enough, they can also rejuvenate themselves once they've died, coming back for round two if Hinata ever managed to put one down.

MBTI®: 10 Marvel Superheroes Who Are ENFPs | CBR

$
0
0

Humans have a mix of personality traits. The dominant ones can be determined by a Myers-Briggs personality test. It provides people with a breakdown of who they are and a glimpse of where they fall in the global population.

RELATED: MBTI®: 10 DC Villains Who Are ENFPs

One of these indicators is the Campaigner, or ENFP. These extraverted and intuitive individuals embrace big ideas and reflect a sense of hope and goodwill. Within the Marvel universe, several heroes fall under this category. As an example, here are 10 who are ENFPs.

10 Iron Man

Tony Stark is the epitome of an ENFP. This is a man who turned his company into a global leader in clean energy and enhanced technology. When he steps out of his machine shop, Tony loves to be in the spotlight.

Yet, he's also an emotional person. His ties to Steve Rogers are that of a brother. His love and admiration for Pepper Potts has never wavered, even when they were dating other people. Iron Man's goal is to do good for the world and inspire them to do good themselves.

9 Spider-Man

Peter Parker is certainly intuitive thanks to his Spider-Sense. It gives him the ability to detect trouble and other unusual circumstances before they happen. Also, when he's swinging around the city, Spider-Man is an extrovert. Although, there are times this indicator gets him in trouble.

Despite his problems, Spidey wants nothing more than to keep Manhattan's citizens safe. His goal is to ensure no one is killed on his watch. So, he's always looking for ways to make it happen. If something fails, like Parker Industries, he turns to another avenue for success.

8 Captain America

Steve Rogers is an extroverted introvert. While under the guise of Captain America, he works the crowds of grateful fans. When he's out of costume, Steve generally likes to live a quiet life. This doesn't take him out of the ENFP profile. It simply adds a layer.

RELATED: The 5 Bravest Things Captain America Has Ever Done (& The 5 Most Reckless)

If exploratory surgery was done on Steve, one would find his insides filled with hope and goodwill. That's the person he's been since he became the recipient of the Super-Soldier Serum. From World War II to the present day, Captain America has been the shining beacon of hope in America and the world.

7 Beast

Though his race has been repeatedly harassed over the decades, Hank McCoy isn't a bitter man. Truth be told, he's the most positive X-Man around. He doesn't growl about his looks or detractors. Nor does he hide in the shadows. Hank has been the spokesperson for many superhero teams over the decades.

Also, he has goodwill, though it can get him in trouble. For instance, bringing the original X-Men to the present was meant to bring his group of mutants together. Yet, it caused more divisions within the group. Despite this, Hank continues to prospect for new ways to coalesce the mutant community.

6 Charles Xavier

Professor X exudes hope and goodwill. His main goal at the start was to have homo sapiens welcome mutants into their fold. Even after numerous failures and attacks, Xavier still believed in his cause.

That's why he needed to be an extrovert. Out of all the mutants, he is the most respected. So, he must be the face of their cause. Nevertheless, when things start to get rough, Xavier knows when to step back so the anger and resentment can fade.

5 Wonder Man

It's hard to be introverted when you're a Hollywood star. Luckily, Simon Williams likes the spotlight. He enjoys his fans more than battling super-villains. This feeling is so strong, that he has adopted a pacifist stance.

RELATED: 10 Reasons Why Wonder Man Is Actually The Most Powerful Avenger

This is where hope and goodwill come into play. Wonder Man would rather talk things out with an opponent than fight them. Not only does he want this for himself, but he hopes to carry this message to others. Though they don't listen, Wonder Man doesn't stop addressing a stance of camaraderie.

4 Hawkeye

If Clint Barton wasn't an extrovert, he wouldn't have been the spokesman for the Avengers when they appeared on Late Night with David Letterman (Avengers #239). Sure, he likes to be alone when he can. However, he's prepared whenever it's time to enter the spotlight.

Clint is also a prospector. He's always looking for new talent to train or recruit. For instance, in volume 2 of The Avengers, Hawkeye is the one who suggests Justice and Firestar join the team. Overall, he's a morale booster.

3 Star-L0rd

It doesn't seem like it at first, but Peter Quill wants to provide a sense of hope to the galaxy. This is one reason he leads the Guardians of the Galaxy. The other reason is to be put in the spotlight.

He might be extroverted due to how he grew up. Or, it could be due to his royal Spartax heritage. Either way, Quill likes to take credit for saving a population or solar system when he can. It's not ego ... well, not much ego. Instead, he believes it helps oppressed individuals feel a sense of goodwill and safety.

2 Kitty Pryde

Beast is not the only X-Man who likes to be front and center. Kitty Pryde also likes to show off her stuff. It's probably why she's the current leader of the Marauders. Swashbuckling around to stop illegal shipping seems like a perfect fit.

RELATED: X-Men: The 10 Most Creative Uses of Kitty Pryde’s Powers, Ranked

Unlike some of her teammates, Kitty has never given up hope about the mutants' inclusion into normal society. Her energy and personality drive her to do good and let everyone know that things will be okay.

1 The Thing

Ben Grimm seems tough to characterize. Yet, beneath his rocky skin is a huge heart. It allows him to fall in love and to be a fine godfather and surrogate uncle to many. It's what makes him so lovable.

Granted, the Thing will take an opponent down with one punch. However, he does it so others don't have to. He would rather let Reed Richards putter in his lab than have him face Doctor Doom for the umpteenth time.

Death Note: 10 Pieces of Light Yagami Fan Art That'll Wow You

$

0

The supernatural crime thriller series Death Note has captivated readers for years now, and its success is based on the two incredible lead characters: Light Yagami, and L. They are locked in an incredible battle of wits, and Light Yagami must use every trick in the book to escape capture and build his mass-murdering empire as Kira.

RELATED: 10 Creepy Batman Fan Art Pieces That Every DC Fan Needs to See

Light Yagami is either a heaven-sent savior or a twisted, murderous, egomaniac depending on whom you ask, and that moral ambiguity is what drives the series forward. Light wants to rid the world of crime and violence by killing off all criminals and dangerous individuals, but in so doing, becomes the ultimate criminal himself. He's a fascinating figure, and here are ten excellent fan art pictures dedicated to him.

10 Heaven Sent, Or Hell-Bent?

The gallery begins with this symbolic fan art courtesy of artist shadowpaintedwhite. Light is depicted in ordinary human clothes, surrounded by supernatural elements in a heavenly setting. Light's also got angel wings since he views himself as a guardian angel of the innocent.

But he's still a mass murderer by any count, and that's why this fan art includes a pile of skulls, some gold chains, and several dark angels flying in formation in the negative space. Light thinks he's come from the heavens, but he also brought hell with him.

9 Not Your Friend

This stunning fan art by artist Ka7 depicts a scene that is unique to the Death Note anime, near the end of the first major arc. L is having some very mixed feelings about Light's apparent innocence, and Light is there to"comfort" him in this difficult time. The Kira investigation has gone cold, and L is about to lose his life, too.

This art finely captures L's despair and apathy in the face of this apparent setback, and Light is offering a comforting hand while his face is in shadows. He looks like Ryuzaki/L's friend, but he is L's mortal enemy, and not even the rain can wash away the truth.

8 His True Nature

The next entry in the Light fanart gallery also proves that Light Yagami is a being of a dual nature. In artist Lady-Was-Taken's highly detailed and colorful art, Light stands before an ornate gold wreath of sorts, to contrast with his dark clothes and darker nature.

RELATED: Haikyu!! 10 Amazing Fan Art Pieces You Can't Look Away From

That wreath almost looks like an angel's halo, but Light also has a demonic wing sprouting from his left shoulder, one that reveals the bloody skulls of his many victims. The wing is shaped like a tear in the background, as like wallpaper being torn off to show the wall's true colors beneath.

7 The Exchange

Light Yagami has made a deal with the devil, and that is boundlessly clear in artist Doomsplosion's eerily lit and highly detailed fanart of Light and Ryuk. On one hand, Light received the ultimate tool to create his ideal world: the Death Note.

He gave up his soul in exchange, so to speak, and he also pays Ryuk in apples and the sheer entertainment factor of being Kira to keep him on his side. At first, Light thought that these were modest prices to pay, but then he paid the ultimate price after facing Near one last time.

6 Dark Angel

Light the death angel returns once again, and this time, the art is focused even more clearly on Light. This is a chance to show off the incredible details on his wings, and artist Byakuya1619 took full advantage of that.

This is an arrogant pose that Light once made in the Death Note manga, where he recently defeated L and believed himself on top of the world. Just look at those gray wings and all the detailed feathers; it really looks like Light could take flight at any moment. And like Icarus, he's about to fly too close to the sun.

5 Wicked Glance

Light Yagami is a character of both light and shadow, and artist Dragoblaster decided to depict that fact in this stark fanart that uses shading to maximum effect. With just those two colors and a bit of red, Light really pops, and in considerable detail.

Light is always scheming something, and in this fan art, he probably just found a way to take down L for good this time. His eyes are glowing red; not from the Shinigami eyes like Misa has, but from the sheer ambition and bloodlust in his mind. He has some grisly work left to do.

4 Polite Company

Starting in volume 3 of the manga, Light was a full-blown college student, and he had a very interesting classmate to share the campus with – L himself. L was going on the offensive, and he made friends with Light on the outside while remaining his nemesis on the inside.

A few times, these students met up at the college cafe to chat over some tea and coffee, but in reality, L was continuing to test Light's personality to see if he matches Kira's psychological profile. Artist Charlotte-Exotique made sure to capture the glamor of these two star students while making sure to maintain an atmosphere of tension.

3 Lonely Quest

Forests are sometimes used as a figure of speech for any situation or mission that is difficult to navigate, where the ending is impossible to see and the risks are high. People get lost in forests, just the way they sometimes lose sight of themselves on a mission or crusade.

Artist TomasLacerda used a snowy, barren forest to symbolize Light losing his humanity during his quest to rid the world of crime, though he doesn't look too concerned. He's giving the viewer a stern glare, as though to say "get out of my way."

2 Taking The Lead

The story of Death Note involves many characters, from the odd pair Ryuk and Light to L, Teru Mikami, Rem, and Misa Amane, among others. But one thing is for sure: Light Yagami, as Kira, is always at the fore. He's the one who makes this story possible.

So, Tyrine Carver and Wil Woods drew this comic book-style ensemble piece of fan art in dazzling color and detail, and naturally, Light himself is front and center with his magical, wicked Death Note in hand and his pen's point capped with a little skull at the top. It's subtle, but it's there.

1 Suit Up

To complete this gallery, artist Ogulcan (Charjaspa) imagined artist Evan Peters as Light Yagami, and the final result is remarkable. Mr. Peters has a fierce, cunning look that fits Light Yagami just right, showing what Light could have become if he triumphed over Near and Mello.

Light is feeling pretty smug here since he has rid himself of his last few enemies and has become king of the world. His eyes are positively glowing red in victory, and an eerie fog is rising, giving him a supernatural look. The background is similarly abstract, and there is some light shining on his back, as though Light is turning away from the last rays of light of humanity.

5 Reasons Why World Breaker Hulk is The Strongest (& 5 Why It’s The Blue Hulk)

The saying goes, "Hulk is the strongest there is". Which Hulk though? There are almost as many Hulks as there are Spider-people and there have been multiple incarnations of the main Hulk himself. They are not all equal.

Some iterations of The Hulk are mindless rage bombs while others are pacifists and don't even know how to throw a punch. To answer the question of which Hulk is the strongest Hulk, let's take two of the most powerful incarnations of the big green smashing machine (only one of them is green, however) and compare notes.

10 World Breaker: Oxygen Not Required

On the ride over from Sakaar, Hulk stays on his ships hull to smash comets (not sure why they don't just pilot around them) and to beat up space pirates. The exact distance between Earth and Sakaar is unknown and the speed Hulk's ship can travel is never mentioned so some guesswork is required.

The safe money is on the journey taking at least a day. For Hulk to hold his breath that long while fighting space pirates and smashing comets? Strength is not the right word but it's the closest we have. It's worth noting that he also fails to implode.

9 Blue Hulk: Flight

Imbued with the Uni-Power and upgraded to cosmic being, Blue Hulk has many, many terrifying additional abilities beyond just smashing. One of the most troubling additions is the ability to fly. Picture that for a moment. A flying Hulk. Fairly goofy looking?

Without doubt, but also scarier than a Sharknado, or roving gangs of oxygen breathing sharks with legs and good cardio. Hulk being able to fly increases his potential kinetic energy and makes him stronger than a puny World Breaking Hulk for sure.

8 World Breaker: Black Bolt's Beatdown

Black Bolt has wiped out Celestials with the power of his voice. He has torn space-time and even reality itself with it. It's why all the corners in his home are padded. One stubbed toe and dimensional barriers could be demolished.

When Hulk turned up on the Moon looking to fight Black Bolt, nobody expected him to get far. Imagine the horror of anybody watching then, as Hulk withstood Black Bolt's power and proceeded to punch him into a bloody pulp. It's a feat a few levels above incredible and it makes Blue Hulk's whole flying schtick look unimpressive.

7 Blue Hulk: Telekenisis

So it's established that Blue Hulk is cosmically endowed. Flying rampaging Hulk is as scary as it gets though, right? Wrong, dead wrong. Blue Hulk has psychic power and telekinesis. This power doubles his smashing capacity and makes him the strongest there is. No longer limited by having only two fists, Blue Hulk can use his mind as a legion of fists.

Not only are Blue Hulks enemies worried about bones being broken, but they also need to worry about their minds being smashed. There's the added concern of Hulk being constantly bombarded by the internal dialogue of anybody close enough to him. For someone with no chill, this would be a constant trigger.

6 World Breaker: His Warbound

One branch can be broken easily. A handful of branches are harder to break. Together, they make each other stronger. World Breaker Hulk has something that Blue Hulk does not, something that makes him stronger than cosmic power ever could. He has friends.

Or Warbound to be specific. It's kind of like Friends+ and deeper than just hanging out and watching movies. This assembled rabble of ex-gladiator aliens have Hulks back no matter what.Hulk can invade a planet and subjugate the natives, the Warbound will cheer him on, no real questions asked. Friends+

5 Blue Hulk: Amplified Strength

Blue Hulk's hidden Ace in this contest is cosmically amplified strength. It makes the debate over who is strongest a no brainer. Even without the flight and telekinesis, simply having amplified strength makes Blue Hulk the strongest Hulk there is. This entire list is moot and this should have been the first and only entry.

Two Hulks, two different colors, one possessing amplified in strength by a cosmic entity. Ladies, gentlemen, and friends beyond the binary, Blue Hulk for the win, all day.

4 World Breaker: Dr. Strange Loses Twice

Defeating Earth's Sorcerer Supreme brings enough bragging rights to retire a career on. Some of the most powerful beings in and beyond the Universe have tried and failed to get the better of Dr. Strange. World Breaker Hulk slaps him around twice. Twice...

RELATED: 15 Times The Hulk Was Murdered

After his first defeat at the hands of the Green Goliath, Dr. Strange bonds with the Extra-dimensional monster, Zom. This is a huge deal because in the past, to defeat Zom alone would require the Living Tribunal itself. Multiply Zom's powers with The Sorcerer Supremes and it's unclear as to how anybody could ever stand against him. That is until World Breaker Hulk starts slapping him around.

3 Blue Hulk: Energy Absorption

While bonded to the Uni-Power, Hulk can absorb energy and gain extra strength. This is in addition to the already augmented strength the Uni-Power brings to those it bonds with.

It could be argued that there's no upper limit on how strong Blue Hulk could become if he were bombarded with enough energy. Not a cool thought when you remember he's prone to wild rampages through major cities. It's hard to imagine anything that could compete with an unlimited force multiplier like this.

2 World Breaker: Grief & Hate

World Breaker Hulk has a force multiplier of his own. His grief over the death of his wife and his hatred towards those he holds responsible. The angrier he gets, the stronger he gets. It's kind of gross to look at it this way but his dead wife makes him stronger.

Blinded by revenge and propelled by hatred, World Breaker Hulk is probably the strongest Hulk there has ever been. His grief, rage, and hatred feed off one another in an endless loop.

1 Blue Hulk: Double Team

Blue Hulk has a hidden strength beyond his nightmare-inducing cosmic upgrades. He has the voice of Bruce Banner in his head. For all of Blue Hulks' physical and psychic strength, he still has a tiny pea brain and constant burning anger. Those are two fairly big weaknesses, without the rational (super genius) mind of Bruce Banner to reign in the anger and to guide the pea brain.

The mixture of Hulk, the Uni-Power, and the mind of Bruce Banner in one body makes Blue Hulk the strongest Hulk there is by a long shot.
