Which Studio Ghibli Heroine Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

$

The heroines in Studio Ghibli films are always such complex characters with wide ranges of emotions and are typically super strong, whether it be emotionally or physically. Each of them is so unique in their own respective ways and totally makes the movies that they're in fantastic in every way possible.

RELATED: Ranked: 10 Best Studio Ghibli Heroines

Because each of the different Ghibli heroines is distinguishable, it's easy to pair them to one of the twelve zodiac signs which have a set list of traits to accompany them. Here is which Studio Ghibli heroine you would be based on your zodiac sign.

12 Aries (March 21-April 19) - San

Out of all the Ghibli girls, San is the perfect depiction of an Aries. She is super fierce and a bit headstrong. She acts before she thinks, as that has become his instinct in the wild. She knows she must protect her family, the wolves, and her home, the forest.

Yet, humans continue to threaten both. Like an Aries, San is incredibly courageous and determined to help those she loves and eventually ends up helping Ashitaka for the same reason.

11 Taurus (April 20-May 20 ) - Sophie

Just like San is a perfect Aries, Sophie is an excellent Taurus. She is incredibly reliable and resourceful throughout her time in the castle and always tries to go above and beyond when it comes to saving her friends, particularly Howl.

She is patient and practical, which is why she can forgive even those who did her wrong such as the Witch of the Waste. Sophie spends a good majority of the film as the castle's maid and shows off just how practical she is when she is cleaning up the mess of the boys.

10 Gemini (May 21-June 20) - Kiki

Kiki makes for a great Gemini in that her personality is a bit turbulent like that of a Gemini. In one moment she may be the happy, go-lucky witch who is exploring her new home, but in the next, she gets tremendously down on herself for not being good enough to the point where she even loses her powers.

Kiki is extremely curious and has the ability to learn quickly and convey her thoughts with ease, which she does time and time again throughout the film.

9 Cancer (June 21-July 22) - Chihiro

Chihiro is extremely caring, in fact, that's what makes her so incredibly special. Throughout all the hardships Chihiro faces in Spirited Away, she continues to try to do right by people. She helps those even when she is afraid of them, even when they've threatened her in the past (like No Face).

RELATED: Which Spirited Away Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac Sign?

Like a Cancer, Chihiro is utterly caring and a little emotional. She is intensely loyal to those that become close to her, particularly her parents who she is in a constant pursuit to save, and Haku who she trusts more than anyone.

8 Leo (July 23-August 22) - Nausicaä

Nausicaä is incredibly brave, loyal, and confident making her the perfect Leo. She doesn't let the fact that she is a princess stop her from her defending her people in the valley and will stop at nothing to assure their safety.

She flies in her glider constantly, which is noted to be incredibly difficult and dangerous, but she does so anyway. Nausicaä is also extremely devoted to her cause and the is extremely generous and passionate about the things that she cares about.

7 Virgo (August 22-September 22) - Umi

While Umi may seem a lot simpler than many of the Ghibli heroines, that just plays right into the Virgo archetype. Virgos are shy until you get to know them, and just like a Virgo, From Up On Poppy Hill may take a Studio Ghibli fan a full watch or two to full ingest.

The story doesn't have as many dire circumstances as many of the others do, but it is filled with heart and love and everything Studio Ghibli is known for. To further this idea, Virgos also typically like to follow a strict schedule or routine, and Umi continuously displays that she must lift the signal flags every day.

6 Libra (September 23-October 22) - Sheeta

Sheeta makes for an excellent Libra as she has a pretty defined moral compass and the idea of justice. As the princess of the castle in the sky, she knows those who want to harness the remaining power are evil and tries everything in her capabilities to stop it.

Her glowing stone is what keeps Laputa alive and she defends it from her kidnapper, Colonel Muska. Libras are pretty social, which explains why Sheeta had such ease making friends, even with those who had previously been chasing after her.

5 Scorpio (October 23-November 21) - Fio

Fio is the main heroine in Porco Rosso and is the main mechanic that helps Porco with his plane. Fio contradicts a ton of ideas based on how women were "supposed to be" in the 1920s (when this film takes place) but doesn't really care.

RELATED: Studio Ghibli MBTI®: Which Beloved Ghibli Character Are You?

Fio loves to work as a mechanic and she doesn't let society stop her from loving it. Because of this, Fio makes an excellent Scorpio. She is driven by her emotion, by her passions and will stop at nothing, no matter what anyone says or thinks of her.

4 Sagittarius (November 22-December 21) - Ponyo

Ponyo is a fun-loving little fish seeking some new adventure, which she finds after meeting a little boy named Sosuke. Like a Sagittarius, Ponyo is extremely curious about the new world she has found herself in and cannot wait to explore it.

She has an excellent sense of humor and seems to always be able to make those around her laugh. As a Sagittarius, Ponyo is also pretty idealistic which drives her to succeed in her goals of becoming human so that she can be with Sosuke.

3 Capricorn (December 22-January 19) - Arrietty

Arrietty is extremely responsible in her film, so much so that it becomes an issue between her and the young boy, Sho, who is constantly trying to help her and family live comfortably in his home.

As a Borrower, Arrietty must take that which goes unnoticed, such as sugar cubes and tissue pieces, while being undetected from the humans who reside in the house. But once Arrietty gets caught, she takes the responsibility and lives with it, even trying to fix her mistakes by going to speak to Sho. This trait is exactly how a Capricorn would behave and is a perfect example of the sign.

2 Aquarius (January 20-February 18) - Kaguya

Kaguya is fun and whimsical and enjoys having a great time with her friends. But unfortunately, her parents think they know what is best for her and take her away from everything she loves.

Kaguya displays many signs of an Aquarius, both in her moods and by her actions. She is a deep thinker and always wants to help people. She is incredibly warm-hearted and desires freedom above all else, which is the same for Aquarius.

1 Pisces (February 19-March 20) - Shizuku

Shizuku is a dreamer and a hopeless romantic, and constantly wants the best for those she cares about. All of these traits make her the perfect Pisces. Pisces are incredibly creative and are often living in a world of their own (which makes them pretty great authors).

Shizuku displays this by coming up with a novel idea after seeing the Baron doll in the old antic shop. She also spends an entire day following a cat around Japan, just to see where it'll lead her. Even the title of her film, Whisper of the Heart, is the perfect title for any Pisces.

Boruto: 5 Characters That Will Join The Kara (& 5 Who Won't)

$
0
0

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations has done well so far, especially the manga. The anime is still lacking, but the anime will begin to adapt the manga soon, so that's good news for the fans. To most fans, Kara is still a mysterious organization.

RELATED: Naruto: Sakura's 10 Best Accomplishments, Ranked

It is an evil organization that is filled with very powerful people. The organization is led by Jigen, who was able to take on Naruto and Sasuke at the same time. There is no doubt that in the future, the organization will draw more people towards it.

10 WILL: KAWAKI

Kawaki's backstory is quite tragic. He was forced to join Kara against his will. Kawaki had to undergo several modifications and he was given the Karma.

It wasn't until Boruto and his group rescued him and brought him to Konoha. Once Naruto came to know about Kawaki's horrible past, he did everything to protect him from harm. Since Kawaki is not completely heartless, Jigen can use his emotions to lure him to Kara once again.

9 WON'T: BORUTO UZUMAKI

Boruto Uzumaki is the son of Naruto. He has the Jougan as well as Karma at his disposal. He has undergone some great character development so far.

From a very annoying brat, he's become a reliable and a likable character. Boruto has clearly shown that he won't tolerate activities that threaten the lives of people. He is willing to risk everything to ensure the safety of all the people.

8 WILL: MITSUKI

Mitsuki joined the Academy at Konoha because he wanted to see whether or not Boruto would be his Sun. Ever since coming to Konoha, Mitsuki has kept a close eye on the development of Boruto and he tries to find the reason behind his every action.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Members You Didn't Know Were In The Akatsuki (& 5 Everyone Remembers)

It is possible that sometime in the future that Mitsuki would start to feel different and then he might decide to follow someone else. Orochimaru has already stated that Mitsuki was free to follow any path that he wanted. Also, he is considered one of the strongest genin.

7 WON'T: SHIKADAI NARA

Shikadai Nara is one of the members of the new generation of Ino-Shika-Cho. Like his father, Shikadai is an innate genius. He has a very high IQ and he has shown that he is capable of making the tough decision when the situation calls for it.

Shikadai has no reason to join Kara and it will remain like this till the end of the series. He will remain a shinobi loyal to the Hidden Leaf.

6 WILL: SASUKE UCHIHA

Sasuke Uchiha is known as the "Shadow Hokage," because he protects the Hidden Leaf from the shadows. Sasuke is undoubtedly a very powerful character and if he were to join Kara, they would get a huge boost.

The only reason Sasuke would join some organization like Kara would be if he was sent on an infiltration mission. In the past, Sasuke has worked with Akatsuki, and he even attacked the Kage during the Five Kage summit. So, he knows how to operate in a villainous organization.

5 WON'T: SARADA UCHIHA

Sarada Uchiha's only goal is to become the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf in the future. So far, Sarada has shown a lot of promise. She has displayed great leadership, which has been acknowledged by both Boruto and Mitsuki.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Characters You Didn't Know Sakura Could Beat (& 5 She Stands No Chance Against)

Joining Kara would mean throwing away her dream of becoming the Hokage, and it is not something she can afford to do. If she tarnishes her reputation, then there is no possible way for her to become the Hokage.

4 WILL: DENKI

Denki is an anime-only character from Boruto. He is yet to be introduced in the manga, and it might remain like this for quite some time. Denki is a feeble person, who even fell under the control of the dark chakra.

He can be forced to work at Kara against his will. Denki's only redeeming quality is his intellect. If he were to join Kara, he could help them with hacking, intel gathering, and analyzing other people. Also, he is to inherit the Kaminarimon Company, which would boost Kara's resources.

3 WON'T: KOHONAMARU SARUTOBI

Konohamaru Sarutobi is the grandson of the late Third Hokage. Hiruzen has inherited the Will of Fire from his grandfather and he is determined to protect the Hidden Leaf at any cost.

Back in Naruto, Konohamaru admitted that he would become the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf. So, he would not do something as lowly as joining Kara and betraying the Hidden Leaf.

2 WILL: OROCHIMARU

Orochimaru is not new to murdering and experimenting. Even though he has settled down after the Fourth Great Ninja War, there's no guarantee that he will remain nice forever. Kara is obviously a very powerful organization with many members.

It won't be too difficult for them to persuade Orochimaru to join Kara. They can even use force if necessary to make Orochimaru join them.

1 WON'T: HANABI HYUGA

The final character on the list is Hanabi Hyuga. She is the sister of Hinata Hyuga, and she's next in line to become the next head of the Hyuga Clan.

Hanabi had much more potential than Hinata as a kid. Hanabi is currently a jonin and she's the team leader of Team 15. Hanabi has shown any discontent against her clan or the Hidden Leaf. Thus, she will never join Kara.

Fairy Tail: 5 Characters Mirajane Would Team Up With (& 5 She'd Rather Not)

$
0
0

The fantasy genre is a strong one in shonen anime, since magic systems allow heroes and villains alike to wield incredible and flashy powers of all kinds. Fire, ice, lightning, mind control, teleporting and more are easy for some of these characters, and that includes the wizards of Fairy Tail. Magic is run of the mill for them.

RELATED: Fairy Tail: 10 Characters With the Most Fights, Ranked

In the Fairy Tail guild, Mirajane Strauss is a very powerful character. She is one of the few S-Class wizards, along with Laxus and Erza. Mirajane can wield Take Over magic, meaning she can assume the bodily form of other entities; in her case, a demon. She's a devastating melee fighter, but she's also a wonderful friend to all her guildmates. Suppose she went on an adventure and needed a companion? Based on personality, combat compatibility, and other factors, who would Mirajane choose... and who would she reject?

10 Team Up With: Lucy Heartfilia

Lucy is the co-protagonist alongside Natsu, and she is a cheerful and clever girl with access to Celestial magic. She can use silver and gold keys to summon spirits of all types, some of which are fighters (like Leo) while others are meant to provide support.

Mirajane has a high opinion of Lucy, and these girls would get along great on any adventure for the guild. It helps that Lucy can provide ranged fire with Sagittarius and Scorpio to complement Mirajane's preference for close-range combat.

9 Reject: Panther Lily

Mirajane gets along with everyone at Fairy Tail, but she is closer to some characters than others. She is best friends with a handful of them, and more like a polite big sister to the rest. Panther Lily falls in the latter group.

Panther Lily prefers to either work alone or with his partner, Gajeel, and he wouldn't have much fun with Mirajane — and vice versa. Panther Lily is more used to fighting alongside Gajeel, and he'd be an awkward fit for Mirajane.

8 Team Up With: Sherria Blendy

This girl is the cousin of Sherry Blendy, and she is a member of the Lamia Scale Guild with Lyon and the rest. She is a cheerful kid who gets along well with Wendy, and she also used wind-based magic with great skill.

RELATED: Shield Hero: 5 Anime Characters Naofumi Would Team Up With (& 5 He Wouldn't Let Into His Party)

Sherria may not be with Fairy Tail, but if there was a joint operation going on, Mirajane would definitely consider asking Sherria to back her up on a two-person mission. They'd have a great time together, and Mirajane would see her as a fun little sister.

7 Reject: Toby Horhorta

Toby is also a member of the Lamia Scale Guild, and before that, he and Sherry worked with Lyon to try and melt the ice encasing Deliora. He is one of several characters who has transformed from villain to hero.

That's great, but not what Mirajane wants in a teammate. Toby is a bit dopey, and he's too fixated on socks and goofing off. Plus, his power is rather limited and he's rather loud and excitable. Mirajane would tire of that pretty quickly.

6 Team Up With: Sting Eucliffe

Sting is one of the seven Dragon Slayers, and he and Rogue belong to the Sabertooth Guild. At first, Sting was antagonistic toward Fairy Tail, but he had a sense of sportsmanship and is also intensely loyal to his friends.

RELATED: Marvel: 5 DC Villains Loki Would Team Up With (& 5 He Would Hate)

This puts Sting at odds with his brutal guild master, who scorned friendship. Mirajane would like Sting's sense of personal loyalty and combat strength, and she'd also approve of his cool head. He doesn't get carried away often.

5 Reject: Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuki

What isn't to like about Ichiya? He is a powerful member of the Blue Pegasus Guild and can pilot the Christina. He's also friendly and is capable of leading his team with great skill.

Mirajane respects that, but she really wouldn't like Ichiya's flamboyant and self-absorbed attitude during a mission together. Besides, he works better when leading his own team, and Mirajane was never a part of that squad. Ichiya should stick with his own guildmates for now.

4 Team Up With: Millianna

Millianna once suffered at the hands of Jellal Fernandes when she and some others had to help build the Tower of Heaven. But she was freed, and roamed the world until she joined the Mermaid Heel Guild.

RELATED: One Piece: 5 Pirates Who Would Team Up With Blackbeard (& 5 Who Wouldn't)

She loves all things cat-related, and she is goofy and outgoing in a way that Mirajane would find funny and endearing instead of obnoxious. Mirajane could use a good chuckle, and she'd let Millianna cover her flank while fighting powerful opponents.

3 Reject: Bacchus Groh

Bacchus is an expert martial artist who hails from the Quatro Cerberus guild, and he uses a literal brand of "drunk fu." He's also rather arrogant and has a prickly personality that sees attractive girls as prizes more than people.

That's pretty sleazy and Mirajane wouldn't put up with it for a moment. Besides, Bacchus seems to fight better alone, and his erratic tendencies would be an awkward fit for Mirajane's own fighting style. She has little to like about him.

2 Team Up With: Yukino Agria

Yukino belongs to Sabertooth, a guild that stereotypically is made up of big, tough guys. But she is a full-fledged fighter in her own right, and like Lucy, she can use Celestial magic with great skill. Mirajane would like that.

Also, like Sting and Rogue, Yukino has a strong sense of personal loyalty and trust, which contrasts dramatically with that of her guild master, who once humiliated her and kicked her out of the guild. But now she's back and she represents all that's good and right about the reborn Sabertooth.

1 Reject: Brandish

Brandish is one of the Spriggan 12, able to use magic that can resize anything, from a person to an entire continent. She used this power in Zeref's name for a time but soon went rogue and became a loose ally of Fairy Tail's.

She has a tragic backstory that put her at odds with Lucy, until the matter was cleared up and she became a casual friend. But as a companion, Mirajane wouldn't like Brandish's aloof, apathetic manner, and she'd be afraid of the possibility of Brandish abusing her overwhelming strength for petty reasons.

Which Pokémon: Indigo League Character Are You Based On Your Chinese Zodiac Sign?

$
0
0

The Indigo League was the rough and tumble start for many Pokémon trainers trying to figure out the game. With countless top trainers from the original eight gym leaders to the Elite Four, the league is full of great characters. Which begs the question, which one would you be based on your Chinese Zodiac sign?

RELATED: 10 Pokémon With The Most Surprising Potential, Ranked

With twelve zodiac animals and their unique traits to select from, there are many potential selections even beyond the boss-type characters of the game. Pokémon type choices, personalities, and even strategies go into establishing the twelve best choices for the Indigo League and the Chinese Zodiac.

12 Rat – Gary

Smart and resourceful, the Rat signifies craftiness and guile as well. Gary is a great example of resourceful and crafty. Always trying to one-up Ash, he uses his intelligence and roster to beat his opponent.

Even in the game, Blue is always waiting for the player to pick his Pokémon so that he can pick the opposite one to take advantage of the former's weakness. A true rat move for victory.

11 Ox – Lieutenant Surge

Strong and hardworking, the Ox is stubborn and reckless as well. Lieutenant Surge is a classic example of the Ox. Diligent and dedicated, he saved many lives during the Pokémon wars.

Still, he also strictly used Pokémon as weapons more than companions and was stubborn in this thought too. His reckless use of Pokémon is often discussed by fans as a dark part of the franchise.

10 Tiger – Lance

Frank and determined, the Tiger is also fierce and aggressive. Lance is a great example of a Tiger. While he would be most fitting as a Dragon, Lance's style is a bit more aggressive than a Dragon's more careful relentless motion.

RELATED: 5 Pokémon Relationships The Fans Are Behind (& 5 They Rejected)

Moves like Outrage and Hyper Beam pit Lance's Pokémon into difficult moments and his tendency to be overly aggressive is usually how he can be defeated. When one takes advantage of the ice weakness, Lance's Tiger habits can be easily exploited.

9 Rabbit – Misty

Smart and gentle but swift in motion, the Rabbit is also known to lose hope and retreat. Misty is a quick battler with intelligence that utilizes strength and efficiency.

In the original game, Misty's Starmie's Bubblebeam was capable of defeating many unprepared trainers, and this is an example of her powerful style. Still, when it came to her Psyduck, Misty was often easily disillusioned and quit due to the Pokémon's difficult nature.

8 Dragon – Giovanni

Energetic and a strong leader, the Dragon is also arrogant and relentless. Giovanni is a great example of a Dragon as he prepares his Pokémon for world domination. The only master capable of controlling Mewtwo for even a brief moment, it was his pride that caused the great Legendary to fly away.

Still, being able to make a giant underground Pokémon mafia is no easy feat, and Giovanni's takeover of Saffron City is a testament to his intellect and ability to observe weak spots.

7 Snake – Koga

Sharp and intuitive, the Snake is also deceptive and elusive. Koga has a brilliant mind. Always multiple steps ahead of his opponent, the ninja leader utilizes poison and paralysis to hamper his opponents, with Toxic being a particularly great attack.

RELATED: The MBTI® Of The Best Pokémon Trainers From The Show

Still, even Koga's style complements his negative traits with invisible walls and exploding Pokémon to always shake off his opponents. Koga is ever elusive and deceptive.

6 Horse – Erika

Passionate, gentle, and upright, the Horse is also strong-minded and anxious. Erika is a great example of these traits. Kind and caring, Erika nurses injured Pokémon and cares deeply for all.

However, when she sees people hurt Pokémon, Erika becomes anxious. In addition, she is also very stubborn and only uses Pokémon that are attractive for flower arranging, going against the grain of logic in duels.

5 Sheep – James

Gentle and sympathetic, the Sheep is also known to be a follower and shy. James of Team Rocket is more of a follower than a leader. The kinder of the two, James had a few experiences in the show that displayed his kinder side.

Still, when Jesse or Meowth say go, James is always following along diligently with their crazy plans. In flashbacks, viewers also see how shy James was until he had a pet Growlithe, whom he showed gentle kindness to.

4 Monkey – Brock

Sharp and smart, the Monkey is also too playful and even naughty. Brock is a great example of this. While his anime version is a bit of a departure from his game version, both are intelligent trainers who use moves like Bide and Bind to adjust the tempo of fights.

Ever the playful one, Brock's loving eyes for anyone attractive has been a huge trope in the series. Any time they go to a Pokémon Center, Brock's eyes turn to hearts and he is putty.

3 Rooster – Blaine

Smart and observant, the Rooster is also proud and domineering. Always willing to give trainers a quiz, Blaine observes his opponent as they run through either gauntlet. If they fail in the quiz, then he knows that he can use his wit to defeat them.

RELATED: Pokémon: 10 Things You Didn't Know Gym Leaders Can Do (Because They Never Do)

If they pass the quiz, then Blaine knows they are probably not strong enough to handle a fight. Still, even Blaine is too proud to recognize his Fire Blast will do very little damage to a Blastoise. On that, his overconfidence is his weakness.

2 Dog – Ash

Loyal and vigilant, the Dog can also give up and be anxious. Ash is a great example of a loyal Dog. He is there for his Pokémon whenever they fight hard for him and he always stays true to his team and companions.

In many moments, Ash is pushed into difficult situations and may want to quit. This anxiety he has grows, particularly in the cartoon when Charmander first evolved and he couldn't control him well.

1 Pig – Agatha

Charitable and frank, the pig can also be short-tempered and gossipy. Agatha is a sharp-tongued old lady with powerful Ghosts ready to strike. Agatha is often a bit short-tempered and can be a little bit of a gossip, especially when she talks badly about Professor Oak.

Nevertheless, Agatha's frank nature is the best confidence booster when she states that the player is ready to be champion in the original game. She also gives trainers quite the payday at the end of the battle, showing her charitable side.

5 Reasons Why Namor Made A Good X-Men (& 5 Why He Was The Worst)

$
0
0

In the late '00s, early '10s things were pretty bad for mutants. Scarlet Witch had reduced the race to a small fraction of their former numbers and Norman Osborn and his Dark Avengers were breathing down the necks of the ones remaining. Osborn would form his own team of Dark X-Men, which would bring Namor into the mix.

Namor, Marvel's first mutant, would jump ship and join up with the X-Men, staying with the team throughout the Utopia era of the team until Phoenix Force came and upended everything for everyone. He added a lot of power and prestige to the team but also a lot of baggage. Let's look at all the ways he could be an asset... as well as how he was detrimental to the team.

10 Good X-Men: Legitimacy

Namor is the king of Atlantis and a leader on the world stage. While he hasn't always had the best relationship with the powers of the surface world, his place as a world leader gives him an air of legitimacy and that air was passed onto the X-Men as well.

This was definitely something they needed as they had just defied Norman Osborn, one of the most powerful men in the country, and sorely needed someone powerful in their corner. Namor provided that.

9 Bad X-Men: His Relationship With World Leaders

Namor used to attack the surface world. A lot. It's kind of his thing. He was an enemy of the Golden Age Human Torch, helped during WWII, and then lost his memory. He would regain his memory and take up his crusade against the surface world again, going back forth between being an ally of the world's heroes and an enemy.

RELATED: Namor: The 10 Worst Things The Sub-Mariner Has Ever Done

While he granted mutants legitimacy on the world stage, he also brought all of his baggage with him and that wasn't always the best thing.

8 Good X-Men: Experience

Namor has been fighting heroes and villains since before World War II started. This instantly made him one of the most experienced X-Men on the team, second only to Wolverine. This experience would pay off well in his time with the team.

This was a very hard time for mutants and they needed people with experience facing adversity and Namor has that in spades. He was used to fighting against not just the worst of threats but also against the heroes themselves, which would help in what was to come.

7 Bad X-Men: Arrogant

One of Namor's biggest problems in general is how highly he thinks of himself. Now, it's not that he doesn't have reasons to be arrogant- he's the king of the vastest kingdom on the face of Earth, one of the most powerful men around, and immensely strong and durable, able to go up against the toughest heroes and villains.

RELATED: The 10 Worst Times Namor Has Betrayed His Friends

However, his attitude can be a major turn off when dealing with others, especially in a team situation. It's always been the biggest challenge facing people who work with Namor.

6 Good X-Men: Searebro

When Jean Grey returned to life, she found herself immediately up against Cassandra Nova and her manipulation of the general public. Nova was able to frame Jean for the death of a Congressperson she was possessing and Jean and her team needed a place to hide.

Namor gave it to them in the form of Searebro, a place where Jean's team of X-Men could hide from Nova and plan their next moves. Without him, Nova easily would have been able to take Jean and her team down.

5 Bad X-Men: How He Joined The Team

At the time he joined, Namor was part of Norman Osborn's Cabal and a member of his Dark X-Men team. Emma Frost would convince him to jump ship with her, but it still was a very bad first impression, one that wouldn't ingratiate any of the mutants to him right away.

RELATED: 5 Heroes Namor Gets Along With (& 5 That Are Constantly Trying To Kill Him)

At first, no one was sure whether they could trust them. He had betrayed someone to help the team, but what would stop him from betraying this team? He would eventually earn his place, but he began his time with the team as someone few trusted.

4 Good X-Men: He Committed Himself To The Cause

Surprisingly enough, Namor actually wholeheartedly embraced being an X-Man and a mutant during his time with the team. It's especially weird when one realizes that Namor really didn't even need to. While mutants themselves were facing extinction and persecution like they never had before, none of that would have affected Namor in the slightest.

Namor could have just as easily stayed underwater and never had to deal with any of the problems that mutants were having but he came up and helped out, showing a selflessness he rarely if ever showed.

3 Bad X-Men: His Prior Relationship With Emma Frost

Namor kind of has a thing for blonde women with significant others. His crush on Invisible Woman started a rivalry with Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four that has lasted for years and during his time as a Dark X-Man, it was revealed that in the past he and Emma had a tryst as well.

Namor being Namor, he wasn't one to let things be water under the bridge and liked to occasionally rub it in Cyclops's face that he and Emma had been together and occasionally make new passes at her, which are both pretty scummy moves.

2 Good X-Men: A Big Time Powerhouse

Namor is one of the toughest people on the planet. For years, he's been facing down the Avengers, Fantastic Four, the Hulk, and all kinds of villains and was able to not only walk out of those fights but also win them. That says a lot about just how formidable he is and the X-Men needed that kind of muscle when he joined the team.

It's impossible to deny that Namor became one of the toughest X-Men immediately upon joining the team, adding a level of power and expertise that few had.

1 Bad X-Men: Headstrong

Besides being arrogant, Namor's biggest problem is he's headstrong. When one is a monarch of their own country, they get used to doing whatever they want so it does make sense that Namor would be that way. However, it doesn't always work out very well in a team environment, especially one in the situation the X-Men were in at the time.

There were several times when Namor's headstrong nature came back to bite Cyclops and the team. When a team is in as dire straits as the X-Men were, someone as headstrong as Namor can be a big problem.

Spider-Man: 10 Characters Enhanced By The Tinkerer | CBR

While Phineas Mason/The Tinkerer can be seen in the background across the whole Marvel Universe, he debuted in the second issue of 1963's The Amazing Spider-Man as an unassuming radio repairman, though Spider-Man discovered he was implanting listening devices during the repairs.

RELATED: Spider-Man: 10 Things Fans Should Know About Shocker

He pulled a ridiculous but effective fade on Spider-Man and brought his unique inventive skills to tech-themed villains for years, whether he was helping create new characters or enhancing them. Of course, a few of his customers have also learned that they should never cross The Terrible Tinkerer.

10 BIG WHEEL

Jackson Wheele sought out the services of The Tinkerer after he learned Mason had outfitted Rocket Racer with his tech. Wheele had embezzled money from his own business and was after the Rocket Racer for humiliating him with the taunting name of "Big Wheel."

Jackson used The Tinkerer to make the name reality and had a giant wheel with weapons and maneuverable arms in one of the most ridiculous super-villain get-ups ever created, which is still remembered humorously even amongst the characters of the Marvel Universe.

9 WHIRLWIND

David Cannon was a mutant criminal who began his career as the Human Top and used his ability to spin at high speeds without getting dizzy to pummel his opponents and evade arrest, though when he became Whirlwind, he needed an upgrade.

The Tinkerer made Whirlwind more dangerous than he had ever been when he designed a new armored costume that featured wrist-mounted buzzsaws for a new job that he partnered on with the Trapster, who had also been upgraded by The Tinkerer, though it didn't work as well for him.

8 TRAPSTER

The Tinkerer was hilariously taken to court by the Trapster after his upgrades failed on him, and he brought a whole crew of other tech-villains to appear who also had complaints about Tinkerer's upgrades.

RELATED: Spider-Man: 10 Things Fans Should Know About The Vulture

The Tinkerer himself had his own supervillain supporters, which resulted in a chaotic courtroom that happened to be happening beside She-Hulk's unrelated courtroom. The case was ruled a mistrial after the numerous violent outbursts from the villains who were then arrested, and Tinkerer was freed to continue his work and She-Hulk tried to forget the whole day.

7 KILLER SHRIKE

The mercenary known as Killer Shrike had previously been outfitted with an anti-gravity generator in his spine that allowed him to fly, but his other tech requirements required an upgrade that he attempted to pay for by robbing an armored truck.

That heist was stopped by Spider-Man, who was able to locate Tinkerer's hideout when Shrike burst in and took Mason hostage, demanding his power booster on "credit." Mason gave him the booster, but when Killer Shrike tried to active his power gauntlets, it shorted out his system due to Tinkerer's failsafe for non-paying customers.

6 SCORPION

Mac Gargan gained his abilities as the Scorpion through genetic manipulation, but he supplemented them with his specially designed armor that routinely required repairs and upgrades, which made him a frequent customer of the Tinkerer.

While he usually provided an upgraded tail for Scorpion's armor, The Tinkerer also worked alongside Lucia von Bardas to re-arm a number of tech-villains during the Secret War that included other villains like Shocker and Grim Reaper, though the enhanced tech was revealed to have been components to a bomb that almost wiped out New York City.

5 STILT-MAN

The Tinkerer, who had lost the last few remaining members of his family in the Stamford incident, was in a dark place when Stilt-Man came to him with requests for new armor, hoping to turn over a new leaf and try out his hand at the hero game.

Tinkerer hoped Stilt-Man would take himself and other costumed heroes out due to his idiocy, so he created him a new suit. Unfortunately, Stilt-Man ran into Punisher, who killed him and tracked it back to the Tinkerer, who begged for a quick death. The Punisher paralyzed him and told him to tinker with that for a while. Harsh.

4 BLACK CAT

While Felicia Hardy began her career as Black Cat without any powers, she soon gained cat-like abilities that she hoped would make her a better partner to Spider-Man, though she would eventually end up losing those abilities and retire.

RELATED: Meow: 10 Things Fans Should Know About Spider-Man's Black Cat

However, Felicia was eager to get back in action, so she hired the Tinkerer to create a few technological enhancements that would help her recreate her lost abilities including extendable claws, night vision contact lenses, and inner ear balance compensators that allowed the Black Cat to return.

3 THE JUDGE

The Tinkerer was indirectly responsible for the creation of a supernatural "cape-killer" known as The Judge, who targeted super-villains and killed them with the vengeful spirits within him that he called the Jury.

The Judge was actually former judge Michael Hart, who was known for putting away criminals and had become embroiled in a mystery after the death of his wife and disappearance. The Tinkerer was actually responsible for both, and out of guilt for the death of his wife, Mason attempted to bring Hart back to life, though it left him mysteriously transformed.

2 TERESA PARKER

Unbeknownst to Peter Parker, his parents had another child who was put up for adoption after their deaths to become Teresa Durand, who was handpicked by Nick Fury to join the C.I.A. though her memories were scrambled by Mentallo.

After Peter and Teresa had met and confirmed her identity as his sister, he helped get her outfitted with a new advanced flight suit from Hophni Mason, who claimed to be the brother of Phineas Mason but was really a robot piloted by The Tinkerer in order to gain the secrets of the super-human community.

1 VINCENT DOONAN

The "man" known as Vincent Doonan who first appeared in the pages of The Unbelievable Gwenpool had spent years working with M.O.D.O.K. (the organization, not the giant floating head) trying to maintain peace and order in his community.

However, it was soon revealed that Doonan was actually an experimental Doombot with A.I. originally created by Doctor Doom before it escaped. The Tinkerer found it and enhanced the Doombot so it could speak, and later Mason created a human-like outer body that allowed it to live for years as Vincent Doonan.

Hunter x Hunter: Killua's 5 Most Triumphant Victories (& His 5 Most Humiliating Defeats)

Hunter x Hunter is one of the greatest anime series to ever be produced. Everything about the series is phenomenal, but the aspect that truly sets it apart from the rest is its cast. Every character, no matter how minor their role is, is rich with individuality. That being said, if the supporting characters were this interesting, you could only imagine the complexity of the main characters.

RELATED: Hunter X Hunter: 5 Times Gon Proved To Be The Best Shonen Protagonist (& 5 Times He Fell Short)

Though he might be the secondary protagonist; Killua's position in the fans' hearts is unshakable. His character design, backstory, and personality are leagues above what the average Shonen protagonist could ever dream to be. He has experienced many ordeals and battles to reach his current position; here are the fights that stand out the most.

10 Victory: Killua vs Mosquito Chimera Ant

Killua's style of fighting has always been unconventional. As an assassin, he strives to take down the opponent with the least amount of effort and risk.

The fight against the female mosquito chimera ant is a solid example of Killua's style; swift, clean, and tricky. From the start of this "battle," the mosquito stood no chances against Killua. The only thing she could do was what mosquitoes do the best - get squashed.

9 Defeat: Killua vs Wing

Learning Nen was a huge milestone for the boys. The entire latter part of the series heavily relied on it after all. But learning it was not exactly a smooth journey. To learn Nen, they had to first get exposed to it.

A brief confrontation occurred between Killua and Wing. No punches were exchanged, but it was obvious to everyone who was the winner and who was the loser. It was one of the few moments in the series where Killua was completely helpless.

8 Victory: Killua vs Sadaso

If Killua was overwhelmed during his bout against Netero; in this fight, he overwhelms the opponent - and he does so in a manner unique to him. Sadaso was a competitor in the heavens arena. He and his partners tried scoring wins through the use of underhanded methods; and by doing this, they unknowingly triggered the wrath of Killua. Sadaso took the brunt of the attack and was close to losing his life.

7 Defeat: Killua and Gon vs Netero

The Hunter Exam arc was the introductory arc of the series. Needless to say, it was the arc that railed and hooked the fans into the series. The arc is a tournament arc at its core; so a decent amount of battles occurred from start to finish.

RELATED: 10 Strongest Characters Hunter x Hunter Characters

The battle between the boys and Netero happened at a transition phase of the exams. And while it was not technically a fight, it was a form of competition.

6 Victory: Killua vs Sub

The Greed Island arc is an underrated arc in the context of the amount of growth Gon and Killua experienced. Wing taught them the basics of Nen, but nothing past that. In order to polish what little they knew and further progress beyond that, they needed more than simple tutoring.

With that said, Killua and Gon faced off against many characters in this arc. But the biggest challenge in the arc was Bomber and his goons. Unlike Gon who was struggling to survive; Killua finished his fight rather effortlessly.

5 Defeat: Killua vs Phinks

Hunter x Hunter never shies away from highlighting the real strength of its characters. No one gets special treatment, not even the main characters. So when Gon and Killua stumbled across the Phantom Troupe, it was game over for them.

The members of the Phantom Troupe are infamous for their crazy prowess; it didn't come as shocking when Gon and Killua were easily subdued.

4 Victory: Killua vs Rammot

Killua's battle against Rammot signifies more than just victory and defeat. It was only during this fight that Killua truly broke his shackles and unlocked his real potential.

Related: Which Hunter X Hunter Character Are You, Based On Your Zodiac?

He forcefully removed the needle implanted inside his head. And alongside the needle came out all the negative emotions and fear clouding his vision. Rammot was then not an opponent to the new and rejuvenated Killua.

3 Defeat: Illumi

Illumi is everything that an older brother should not be. He is a giant obstacle that Killua has to cross in order to progress further as a character. As it stands now, Killua is still helpless against Illumi's overwhelming presence.

Since an early age, Illumi has always been on Killua's heels. He implanted the mind control needle inside Killua. And since then, he has been silently influencing his decisions from the shadows.

2 Victory: Killua vs Youpi

Youpi, or Menthuthuyoupi, was one of the three royal guards of Meruem. As a bodyguard to the Ant King, Youpi’s strength was certainly the real deal.

In a direct fight where both opponents are aiming for the other's life, Killua would obviously stand no chance as the two are not even on the same level. However, exploiting Youpi’s speed, Killua used his Godspeed and got the edge on the battle. Though it should be mentioned that at the end of the battle, the damage inflicted on Youpi might as well be considered mere scratches.

1 Defeat: Killua vs Pitou

This exchange with Pitou was one of the swiftest in the series. It was so fast that nobody knew how to react when it came, and after snapping out of it, it was already over. The only choice Kite and the gang had was to sacrifice one in order for the other two to escape.

To this date, this remains one of Gon and Killua's most regretful moments. It's this moment that sparked many events to come.

Bleach: 10 Kisuke Urahara Cosplays That'll Amaze You | CBR

By now, Bleach is considered a Shonen anime classic, alongside other titles of its generation such as Naruto and One Piece. Newer Shonen titles are now in the spotlight, but for older anime fans, Bleach will always have a place in their heart, thanks to this series's outstanding character design and action sequences.

RELATED: Bleach: 5 Underused Characters (& 5 We See Too Much Of)

One of the most dynamic and crafty characters in this series is Kisuke Urahara, a former Soul Reaper Captain and a master scientist. He resides in Karakura Town as a seemingly ordinary candy shop owner, but he's got a few secrets in store. He's also a vital part of Ichigo's team, along with Isshin and Yoruichi, and he even helped take down Sosuke Aizen. So, here are ten cool cosplays that honor this quirky and colorful character.

10 His Squad 12 Days

Before Mayuri Kurotsuchi was the leader of the science-based Squad 12, that position belonged to a younger Kisuke Urahara. He had just transferred from Squad 2, and he seemed like an odd fit for this new Squad at first.

These cosplayers show Captain Urahara and Lieutenant Hiyori Sarugaki getting along for a change, and Kisuke is in top form in his robes while Hiyori is charming but tough with her two blonde pigtails and her arms crossed like that.

9 Simple Days

Kisuke Urahara is a busy man, and sometimes, he needs a break from it all. Even the most powerful characters in Bleach like to take moments to themselves, such as Byakuya taking nighttime walks or Soi Fon looking for cat-themed decorations at the market (to honor Yoruichi).

Meanwhile, Kisuke is just chilling in the world of the living, as this cosplayer shows, and the angle is just right so Kisuke is clearly the subject but also has a sense of charming idleness about him. The gorgeous blossoms are a great background, and they contrast nicely with Kisuke's dark green clothes.

8 Quick Nap

Kisuke has always been good friends with Yoruichi Shihoin, and she saved his life when she kicked open the doors to Central 46 and bailed him out. Kisuke owes her a lot, so when Yoruichi is tired, why not lend her his lap?

RELATED: Bleach: The 10 Most Pathetic Villains in the Series, Ranked

In this shot, Kisuke and Yoruichi are hanging out in the park under a shady tree, and Yoruichi decided to stretch out and take a little nap before going home. Kisuke is perfectly happy to lend her his lap, and it helps show Kisuke's tender side (as opposed to goofing off all the time).

7 More Old Friends

It seems like Kisuke is somehow connected to everyone important to Bleach's lore, and he even has a history with Isshin Kurosaki, the father of Ichigo Kurosaki. Kisuke was the one who helped Isshin save Masaki's life, and they've been friends ever since.

In this shot, meanwhile, the two characters are looking battle-ready as they defy the viewer, and Kisuke's grin contrasts well with Isshin's scowl. The shot also has a filter on it that may suggest that this is just a dim memory of Kisuke's.

6 "Listen Closely, Ichigo"

Kisuke's list of accomplishments is a long one, and that includes "Ichigo's personal trainer." When Ichigo lost to Byakuya the first time, his nameless zanpakuto broke, so Kisuke helped him train and get a new one: Zangetsu.

RELATED: The 5 Best & 5 Worst Magical Swords Ever Wielded in Anime, Ranked

In this sunny, outdoorsy shot, Kisuke is challenging Ichigo to a sparring match, and knowing him, he won't hold back. He's in a good pose to start fighting, and Ichigo is standing defiantly against him. This is just like something from the anime.

5 Ms. Urahara

Genderbent cosplays can be a lot of fun since they offer a fresh take on a character and challenge the cosplayer to find creative new ways to imagine their character as the opposite sex. This works for Kisuke Urahara, too.

A lady Kisuke Urahara stand on a wooden bridge in a sunny park, and she retained the classic striped hat and blond hair while wearing a blue robe and a short, charming green outfit under that. She also traded Benihime for Sasuke Uchiha's sword.

4 Whimsical Partners

Kisuke Urahara is a practical guy, and he's willing to team up with a wide variety of people and groups to get the job done. If it's for the sake of toppling Sosuke Aizen and restoring peace, he'll even take up arms with friendly arrancars, like an adult Nel.

RELATED: MBTI® Of Bleach Characters

These two cosplayers brought the characters to life in perfect form, from their anime-accurate outfits to their in-character poses. They also used some rich lighting and colors to really make this shot pop, and feel lively and energetic.

3 Clever Disguises

The friendship of Kisuke and Yoruichi is so much fun, it's time to add a second group shot of those characters to the gallery. Yoruichi, who's feeling as playful as ever, is relaxed on Kisuke's lap while also giving the camera a coy look. That's so Yoruichi.

This time around, both characters are flying under the radar and wearing typical human clothes. Kisuke is decked out in a classic scientist outfit, from his coat to glasses and calculator, and Yoruichi is looking good in a high school uniform. She'd turn some heads at school for sure.

2 In A Hurry

Often, Kisuke is taking it easy and goofing off, so it becomes easy to forget that he is a capable warrior as well. Being a Soul Reaper Captain isn't just a desk job; a Captain must also be ready to stand and fight against any foe.

Something urgent must be going on because this Kisuke is hurrying to the scene at top speed, with all naps and candy forgotten. The cosplayer is in a great pose for running, and to spice up the sot, he added a blur effect and a magical red glow to Benihime.

1 Summon The Spirit

Kisuke knows everything there is to know about souls and fighting, and like Rukia, he can eject Ichigo's spirit from his body at will. In this case, he does it with the tip of his cane, and he might sometimes do this without warning.

In this exquisite shot, Kisuke is jabbing Ichigo with that cane, and Ichigo is going flying as his soul burst free. This shot is set up just like a scene from the anime itself, and Kisuke had the foresight to eject Ichigo's body in a secluded spot where no one will see.

DC: 5 Marvel Heroes Katana Could Defeat (& 5 She Would Lose To)

Katana has built a name for herself in DC as one of the top fighters that universe has to offer, not to mention one of best sword fighters they've got. After the death of her husband and children at the hands of her brother-in-law, Katana went out in search for the best training she could find.

RELATED: DC: 6 Anime Characters Who Could Beat Katana (& 4 Who Can't)

She eventually joined The Outsiders and being on a Batman led team only made her that much better. Katana is tough and well trained, making her a hard match up for any Marvel hero.

10 LOSE TO: Gamora

Raised by Thanos and trained to be the most deadly woman in the universe, Gamora might be the most formidable fighter around. She is proficient with almost any deadly weapon she can hold in her hands, not that she needs any help killing a room full of people. If you need one person taken out silently, call in Gamora. If you need a lot of people taken out loudly and messily, call Gamora. As well trained as Katana is, she's not beating Gamora.

9 DEFEAT: Iron Fist

Generation after generation, the monks of K'un-Lun have trained some of the world's best martial artists. Specifically, they teach the Iron Fist, the ability to summon and focus your chi into a destructive attack. Danny Rand might not have gone looking for the Iron Fist but he sure found it, and put it to good use alongside Luke Cage.

RELATED: The Legend Of Korra: 5 DC Villains Korra Could Defeat (& 5 She's Lose To)

Katana is as well trained as Iron Fist but her skills with a sword put her head and shoulders over many opponents, including Danny Rand.

8 LOSE TO: Captain America

It can never be stated enough how great a fighter Captain America is. He has been training for decades, keeping in mind that he spent a few of those decades frozen in a block of ice. On top of that, no one wields the shield like he does. Cap can send that thing careening off five guys' skulls and still have it return to him. He also has a keen tactical mind, second only to Batman, and even that's debatable. The Star Spangled Avenger would be too much for Katana.

7 DEFEAT: Punisher

Many people in the Marvel Universe see Punisher as an inverted Captain America. Frank Castle is also a veteran with extensive military training and experience, though he put all of that to a much different use. After the mob killed his family, Frank wetn looking for vengeance, killing anyone even remotely connected with their deaths.

RELATED: Knightfall: 10 Things DC Fans Never Knew About Azrael’s Batman Armor

But even after that was done, he kept murdering people and essentially became a serial killer. Keeping that all in mind, Katana is still better with a sword than he is with a gun.

6 LOSE TO: Shang-Chi

Marvel's Master of Kung Fu is their top hand-to-hand, one-on-one fighter. While he has no super powers of his own, he has proven to be so adept at kung fu that it almost appears like he does. Shang-Chi is so in tune with his own chi that he's even able to detect people trying to hide from him. His skills are impressive, dangerous, and formidable, so much so that he has trained numerous Marvel heroes. It's hard to say if they'd fight or partner up, but Shang-Chi would defeat Katana if they did face off.

5 DEFEAT: Moon Knight

There are two distinct sides to Moon Knight. On the one hand, he's a trained and accomplished fighter, mercenary, and hero. On the other, he's incredibly mentally unstable, and may, in fact, have multiple personalities.

RELATED: 5 Reasons Why DC’s Catwoman Is More Dangerous Than Marvel’s Elektra (& 5 She Isn’t)

Moon Knight is about as dangerous as they come but he often lacks discipline and focus, two things Katana has. She would take Moon Knight down without missing a beat.

4 LOSE TO: Domino

Cable's frequent partner in crime has an incredible mutant gift, specifically that everything always seems to fall into place for her. But that's not all she brings to the table. Domino is a skilled mercenary and tactician with training in a variety of fighting styles and a huge range of weapons. Having a good luck power is one thing but knowing how to put yourself in a position to use it to it's full advantage is another. Katana has the skills to fight Domino but not to win.

3 DEFEAT: Black Cat

Black Cat is often depicted without powers but she has been know to have a superhuman ability. She sometimes has a bad luck power which impacts anyone she faces off against, and sometimes even her allies. Spider-Man's suffered its effects on more than a few occasions.

RELATED: DC: Supergirl's 10 Best Costumes, Ranked

With or without that power, Black Cat still would not be able to defeat Katana. She's decent in a fight but does not have Katana's training or skills.

2 LOSE TO: Elektra

This would be a tough fight for both sides. Elektra is as well trained a martial artist as Katana is, if not a bit better. Plus, she also has an affinity for sharp, pointy objects though Elektra tends to favor sais over swords. Elektra and Katana would actually make an excellent team but heroes usually end up fighting before that happens. The downside of this specific first meeting is that their fight might end up being a deadly one, and Elektra would come out on top.

1 DEFEAT: Daredevil

The Man Without Fear has carved out a niche for himself as the Guardian Devil for a large portion of New York City. Daredevil is one of the best fighters Marvel has. While he lost his sight, he more than makes up for it with enhanced senses and a radar sense that more than makes up for his lack of sight. While Daredevil has experience fighting people with Katana's skill set, she is definitely more than Daredevil could handle.

WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Iron Man 2020 #4, by Dan Slott, Christos Gage, Pete Woods, Celeste Woods, Pete Woods and VC's Joe Caramagna, on sale now.

The Iron Man 2020 event has been an enlightening one for Tony Stark. After Stark was led to believe that he was really an A.I., his long-lost brother, Arno, took over Stark Industries and the Iron Man mantle. Now, he's been waging war against robots and artificial intelligence in the world, a war that is waging through the entire Marvel Universe.

As everyone from Ironheart to the Fantastic Four has learned firsthand, the robots of the Marvel Universe were ready for a revolution, and Arno's war is destroying humanity's relationship with A.I. After the Tony Stark A.I. found himself as the unlikely leader in Marvel's robo-revolution, he was seemingly killed at the end of Iron Man 2020 #3.

Now, Iron Man 2020 #4 revealed that Tony Stark -- the real Tony Stark -- was alive after all, thanks in no small part to his longtime A.I. companion Friday. As this issue reveals, Friday has been hiding within a virtual environment called the 13th Floor, a virtual safe haven for A.I. and a vital installation in the war against A.I. obedience programming.

RELATED: Iron Man: Tony Stark Just Had a MAJOR Revelation

Using the full power of his Iron Man suit, Arno killed Tony as he was trying to disable a machine that would broadcast programming to make Marvel's A.I.s obedient. But under the alias Ghost in the Machine, Friday transferred Mark One's consciousness from his body into the 13th Floor just before Arno's blast could deal any fatal damage.

As Friday explains, the 13th Floor is what Tony Stark once called the eScape, a safe haven for artificial intelligence. Friday had her code scattered throughout the eScape and bonded with it as it was reformatted in the 13th Floor. As Friday herself put it, she went "from a voice in a suit of armor, to a walking talking android, to an entire world." With her newfound reach, Friday contacts the leaders of the robot resistance and tells them she can provide a patch for Arno's obedience programming.

RELATED: Iron Man 2020 Revealed What His Shoulder Gears Do - and It's Oddly Intimate

After making this revelation, Friday confronts Tony and tells him that he is actually the real Tony Stark, with his only augmentations being a few artificial biological components. To prove her point, Friday has been collecting fragments of Tony's consciousness in the 13th Floor in hopes that one day they could reconfigure his consciousness and bring back the real Tony Stark. Although Tony is confronted with a troubling concept of how can an idea of Tony Stark be the real Tony Stark, Friday responds that she's also a living, evolving idea of Tony Stark's, and she's proud of that fact.

Friday has come a long way since she was introduced as a computing system in 2002's Iron Man #53, by Mike Grell and Michael Ryan. Much like the Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Friday has grown far beyond the glorified OS she was originally intended to be. Somewhat ironically,  And now, she's saved her creator and helped him realize that he's still the real Tony Stark in every way that counts.

With Mark I's body still intact, Friday and Tony are on a mission to inject Tony back into reality so he can wrestle back control of his empire from Arno and stop his war on A.I. As Iron Man 2020 continues, Arno will have his hands full against a self-actualized Tony Stark who is backed by Friday, who now has with the computing power of an entire A.I. world at her disposal.

Jurassic World: Dominion - Original Stars' Roles Aren't Just Cameos

Sam Neill has confirmed that he, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern will have more than just cameos when they reprise their respective roles as Alan Grant, Ian Malcolm and Ellie Sattler for Jurassic World: Dominion.

Colin Trevorrow's movie is set to round off the Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard era of the long-running dinosaur franchise. While Trevorrow's trilogy is meant to stand alone, fans were thrilled by the major casting announcement that Neill, Goldblum and Dern would be back together for the first time since 1993's Jurassic Park.

RELATED: Jurassic World: Dominion Adds Another Original Jurassic Park Character

Speaking to Yahoo Movies UK, Neill promised, "We’re all the way through the film, Jeff, and me, and Laura.” The star joked that he “probably won’t be running quite as fast as I was 27 years ago!” but said that he and the rest of the original cast are "raring to go."

"We’re all going to be living in the same joint for three or four months, so that’s going to be fun," Neill said. "And everybody loves Chris and Bryce as well, so I think we’ll be a very happy bunch."

Following the success of Steven Spielberg's original movie, Goldblum led The Lost World: Jurassic Park, while Neill and Dern both appeared in Jurassic Park III. Although all three sat out Jurassic World to usher in a new generation with Pratt and Howard, Goldblum briefly popped up as Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Unlike Malcolm's cameo and final monologue in Fallen Kingdom, Neill's promise that the original cast will be "all the way through" means the two sides of the Jurassic franchise are coming together.

The original three are among a number of high-profile returns. Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Daniella Pineda and Justice Smith are all back for more. After appearing as Dr. Henry Wu in the first movie, Jurassic World and Fallen Kingdom, B.D. Wong is also returning. Finally, Jurassic World: Dominion is going all the way back to the start with a recast version of Lewis Dodgson. While Dodgson was the main antagonist of the Jurassic Park novels, the character has previously only appeared in a single scene for the first movie.

RELATED: Jurassic World: Dominion Script Is 'Exhilarating', Says Bryce Dallas Howard

Pratt has described Dominion as the Avengers: Endgame of Jurassic movies. Trevorrow has also explained how he'd wanted the original trio to appear for a "long time" but needed to find an organic way to bring them back to the series.

Despite Trevorrow sharing a series of behind-the-scenes shots and a franchise-first setting of a wintery backdrop, the plot of the next movie is still shrouded in mystery. The coronavirus pandemic shut down filming on Jurassic World: Dominion; however, it's set to be one of Hollywood's first blockbusters to resume production.

Directed and co-written by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World: Dominion also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Mamoudou Athie, DeWanda Wise and Dichen Lachman. The film arrives in theaters on June 11, 2021.

Seattle Police Forces Are Now Wearing Yellow, Watchmen-esque Masks

Life imitates art, as members of Seattle's police department have taken to wearing yellow face coverings not unlike those worn by the Tulsa police in HBO's Watchmen.

Journalist Ryan Parker tweeted a screenshot of an MSNBC report showing members of Seattle's police force wearing yellow scarves partially covering their faces. Next to the photo is a still from Watchmen, which shows Tulsa's fictitious police force wearing noticeably similar face coverings.

RELATED: Watchmen: Early Costume Design For Regina King's Sister Night Revealed

In a subsequent tweet, Parker added a statement from the Seattle police. "They wore the yellow coverings so that they could easily identify their squad mates in a crowd," the statement reads. "Different squads use different signifiers so that different squads/officers can identify each other in a crowd."

As the world is still in the midst of the global coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the masks also presumably help protect against the virus. The reasons for the coverings in Watchmen, though, were altogether different, instead serving to protect the identities of police officers. In the series, members of the Tulsa Police Department were being targeted by the white supremacist group The Seventh Kalvary.

Seattle police acting on mayoral orders were moving into the city's so-called CHOP zone Wednesday, clearing the area of protesters who had been occupying it for the past three weeks.

Developed by Damon Lindelof, HBO's Watchmen stars Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Jean Smart, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Tom Mison, James Wolk, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith and Adelynn Spoon.

Batman: Gotham Nights Proves Red Hood & Nightwing Are Perfect Partners

WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Batman: Gotham Nights #11's "One Minute After Midnight," by Marc Guggenheim, Robert Gill, Luis Guerrero and Marshall Dillon, available now.

Even though the Bat-Family goes on missions together all of the time, Nightwing and Red Hood don't usually spend a lot of time together. Even though both were Batman's first Robins, their attitudes couldn't be more different. Unlike Batman, Dick Grayson is a relatively happy hero who's worn Batman's cape and cowl and operates in a disciplined manner.

Since Joker Todd's death and resurrection, he's grown from being a murderous vigilante into a worthwhile hero, albeit one who goes about things in a more explosive and chaotic manner. Despite their differences, these two ex-sidekicks team up in Batman: Gotham Nights #11, where we see firsthand that they don't just work well together; they're perfect partners.

RELATED: Batman: Gotham Nights Puts a Darker Spin on The Killing Joke's Career Failure

This Dynamic Duo undertakes an investigation that requires more brains than brawn. After taking down Chemo in Bludhaven, the two have a drink and take a case that provides an ideal opportunity to prove the other wrong. This comes in the wake of Dick judging Jason about how he uses guns and breaks Batman's rules. However, this isn't in a condescending. Dick understands that Jason has his own style, and he doesn't want to ruin it/ Nightwing just believes Red Hood could temper his antics. While Jason shows off his obvious annoyance at Dick and calls him judgemental, Todd seems to understand Dick's reasoning and that Dick is indeed a middle-ground.

And when a TV mentions the imminent execution of tech businessman, Paul Berwick, who was convicted under questionable evidence, both heroes jump into action. Berwick is accused of killing Ann Kelly, an employee at Applied Microsystems, for uncovering embezzlement, and the heroes want to help exonerate him. The body was never found, and they're not fans of the death penalty. So to save an innocent man's life, the two are compelled by the situation to use their detective skills and their diverse approaches to split up and complement each other as a team. With mere hours left, Dick plays to his strengths and Nightwing's hacking skill uncovers that the embezzler wasn't Paul; it was his business partner, Brett.

RELATED: Batman: Gotham Nights Reveals Harvey Dent Wasted Two-Face's Ultimate Cure

Meanwhile, Jason garners more insight when he interrogates and intimidates Paul at Blackgate Prison. He uses his Batman lie-detecting instincts and realizes that Paul's innocent. He figures out that clues could be at his lake house and that Paul's wife, Sara, is tied to the crime, even though she was in Italy when Ann was killed. She vouches for Paul's innocence on national TV because she has to protect a prenup Paul signed with her. It turns out Sara was having an affair with Brett, which connects both to Paul's demise.

Their ensuing teamwork would make Batman proud, as Jason breaks into the lake house as he finds Ann hidden in the wall. After running forensics on the body at Titans Tower, Batman's proteges then confront Brett at his office.

Using the skills the Dark Knight taught them, they sniff around and find the murder weapon hidden in a picture. He took Ann out of the picture to protect himself and planned to pin it on Paul. Brett would then get away with the money he stole from the company and access to Paul's fortune through Sara. And he would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those pesky former Robins.

Throughout this case, Nightwing and Red Hood play to roles flawlessly, follow each other's leads and get results by sticking to a sensible plan. Despite their different approaches, both Nightwing and Red Hood have the equanimity to work together seamlessly to save an innocent man's life.

10 Things Michael Keaton's Return as Batman Could Lead to for the DCEU

Recently news has buzzed around Michael Keaton's potential return as Batman for the upcoming The Flash (2022) film. Though reports of his return are not final at the time this is written, it does seem likely that the iconic actor for the Caped Crusader will be making a return sooner or later.

RELATED: Burton And The Bat: 20 Reasons 1989's Batman Is The Perfect Adaptation

While this is exciting news for Keaton and DC fans in general, the actor's return can lead to a lot of other massive changes for the DCEU going forward. Looking at some of the many possibilities, here is our list of 10 things Keaton's return as Batman could lead to for the DC Extended Universe.

10 Another Batman Film

Given that Keaton was originally supposed to return for a third installment as The Dark Knight to begin with, it would be interesting to see what an actual trilogy with Keaton could be. Even if Tim Burton didn't return, there are plenty of other possibilities to explore within this particular version of Gotham.

Unfortunately, Keaton's story was technically continued in Batman Forever (1995), despite the radically different tone from director Joel Schumacher. However nice it may be to see the actor in the iconic costume once again, it is very unlikely that he will get another solo film.

9 Other Major Returns

Between Keaton's return and the events that happened in the CW's "Crisis On Infinite Earths" crossover, the door is now open for many other DC alums to make a comeback as well. From Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman, to Ryan Reynold's Green Lantern, there are quite a few actors who could easily return to their respective role, even if only for a brief moment.

Of course, seeing other big names return to such iconic roles is a massive feat, and something even the CW struggled to accomplish. While it would be interesting to see other actors return, it is still a bit of an unlikely concept.

8 More Problems

At the moment, it is no secret that the DCEU has struggled to achieve the same success as the MCU. Though bringing Keaton in would be a great way to win a lot of viewers back, it could potentially cause even more problems for the franchise down the line.

RELATED: DCAU Flash Vs DCEU Flash: Who Is Better?

Though many already have their favorite version of Batman, bringing Keaton back so close to Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson could cause a lot of confusion, especially for those who are unfamiliar with the multiverse. Though there is still a lot of great potential for this concept, it could really cause even more trouble if it isn't executed properly.

7 New Robin

Within the past few Batman movies especially, Robin has been severely lacking within the Caped Crusader's life. Though the character is alluded to in the film's live Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), audiences have yet to actually see the character on the big screen since Batman and Robin (1997).

Though the upcoming film with Pattinson is rumored to include the Boy Wonder at a later date, Keaton's Batman could still do a lot with the character as well. Even if Marlon Wayans weren't Keaton's Robin as originally intended, it would still be interesting to see the impact the character has had on the older, more experienced version of Batman over the years.

6 Much More Multiverse

Considering how Keaton is rumored to make his return as part of the upcoming The Flash (2022) film, it only makes sense that this would blow the door wide open for DC to explore their cinematic multiverse. Of course, there are really only so many ways to reintroduce Keaton to the big screen, but this still means that much more would be in store for the universe going forward.

Furthermore, this greatly expands the DCEU's storytelling abilities, as the multiverse could be used to introduce all sorts of other insane characters and situations. Granted, they could still greatly overdo the multiverse concept, but there's also no telling what exciting things could come from it as well.

5 Recastings

Coinciding with the concept of the multiverse, Keaton's Batman could lead to recastings for other heroes throughout the DCEU. Though it is unlikely that Keaton himself is about to become the main Batman of the main universe, later down the line, DC now has a very simple reason to explain why a certain hero is suddenly different.

Once again, this can certainly lead to complications for general audiences, but it can also make things incredibly simple for the studios involved. While it doesn't seem like any other established cast members will be leaving anytime soon, the DCEU now has the perfect way to swap actors if need be.

4 Batmen

For years, Batman alone has been a massive money-maker for DC and related studios. Therefore, it would make sense for Warner Brothers to want to capitalize on the character as much as possible.

RELATED: 5 Times Tim Burton's Batman Was Comics Accurate (& 5 Times It Wasn't)

At the moment, Robert Pattinson and Ben Affleck will both star as some iteration of the character next year, and audiences seem relatively excited about the concept. Likewise, given the success of comic stories like Dark Nights: Metal, the DCEU now has the means to bring this popular story to life. Though there's no guarantee they'll go this route with Keaton, the door is definitely open for them to do so at some point.

3 Big Changes in Canon

Those who have seen "Crisis On Infinite Earths" on The CW know that many other forms of the DC universe have since been canonized to some degree, including the current cinematic universe. However, the DCEU has the power to take things one step further, bringing in some bigger names or even other parts of their extended history that the crossover wasn't able to include.

Likewise, Keaton's return would give them the opportunity to rewrite some elements of the past, even if they don't involve Keaton directly. With so much history to pick and choose from, there are definitely some really cool things that could easily be made canon with everything else.

2 A Very Powerful Flash

At the moment, Ezra Miller's Flash is still pretty new to being a superhero. However, if he is able to accomplish such feats as the ones listed above, he would very quickly become one of the most powerful DC heroes in the universe.

RELATED: Flash: 10 Storylines That Would Make Better Movies Than Flashpoint

Of course, the hero already is impossibly powerful within the comics, but to see him realize his full potential in his first solo film would be very impressive. Though details of how Barry Allen will achieve this feat are unclear at the moment, there's no denying just how powerful he is likely to become by the end of the film.

1 Batman Beyond

For years, fans have been asking for a live action Batman Beyond movie which, given the success of the TV series, certainly isn't a bad idea. Likewise, with Keaton making a return to the cowl, this would be the perfect time to bring Terry McGinnis to the big screen.

Not only could the movie be set in it's own alternate future from the rest of the DCEU, but it could also be used to develop Keaton's Batman further and fill in certain gaps with his history. Of course, this is still just a possibility, but it also seems like a missed opportunity given the timing.

The Flash: 5 Reasons Why Iris And Barry Are The Best Couple (& 5 Why Linda And Wally Are)

$

Two of the most consistent relationships in comics happen to both belong to The Flash. Iris West and Barry Allen are often seen as a fairy tale romance that rivals even Superman and Lois Lane.

RELATED: Flash: 10 Wally West Fan Art Pictures That Are Too Good

It was hard to imagine Wally finding someone as perfect a match as his aunt and uncle were, so he womanized his way through being a hero until he met Linda Park. Both couples eventually get married, and Iris and Linda share a special bond with their husbands that goes deeper than most other relationships: They're lightning rods.

10 West-Allen: Much More Mainstream

Despite Wally being in the spotlight for 30 years following Barry's death, Barry Allen is definitely the most well-known character to hold The Flash mantle. This is because of his constant appearances in DC movies, cartoons, and live-action shows, eventually earning his own in 2014.

The couple serves as the main point of drama throughout the series, including major plot-points like Iris's death at the hands of Savitar and their daughter Nora coming from the future.

9 Park-West: Less Trust Issues

One of the hardest parts of being a superhero is keeping a secret identity. While Iris originally always knew Barry's secret, the New 52 shook things up. When Barry told Kid Flash, Wallace was immediately angry that Barry was keeping such a huge secret from Iris.

RELATED: 10 Huge Ways The Flash Has Changed Since The Silver Age

Reverse-Flash would eventually be the one to reveal Flash's identity to Iris, and it was a source of distrust between the two for a while. Whereas with Wally, his identity was common knowledge for most of his career as The Flash, so this was never an issue with Linda. During the Ignition arc, after The Spectre gave The Flash his anonymity back, Wally told Linda and his teammates (except Batman, Batman already figured it out).

8 West-Allen: connection to the Flash family

While Jay Garrick was the first Flash, most of the members of the Flash family, the close-knit group of heroic speedsters, are a result of Barry and Iris's relationship.

The only reason Wally West became The Flash was that he was visiting his aunt Iris in Central City, and had been dragged along to meet her boyfriend Barry at his lab. Wally was struck by lightning, doused in chemicals, and the rest is history. Bart Allen is also the grandson of Barry and Iris, as well as XS being their granddaughter.

7 Park-West: Much More involved with the Flash Family

Unfortunately for Barry, he died before he got to meet most of the Flash fam, but Wally served as the central figure for years. Through Jay, Wally became close to WWII-era speedsters Max Mercury and Johnny Quick, as well as Johnny's daughter Jesse.

RELATED: Ranking Every Member Of The Flash Family By Speed

When future Iris brought Bart Allen to the present, Wally saw that the kid had potential, and while he was initially extremely annoyed with him, he chose Bart as his successor in the Flash name, which Bart acted as in his own series The Flash: Fastest Man Alive.

6 West-Allen: Love at first sight

Usually, with comic books, we see the hero pursuing the main love interest and the readers cheer them on until the two get together. In the case of Barry and Iris, they were together right from the start.

In Showcase #4, Barry's first appearance, the two are already in a relationship. He naturally arrives at their date late, but luckily is able to save Iris from a bullet being shot by the Turtle Man, Barry's first supervillain.

5 Park-West: Cooler Kids

Despite Barry and Iris being a power couple, their kids are kinda lame. Don and Dawn Allen were gifted with the same powers as their dad and became known as the Tornado Twins. They've never really been fleshed out as characters, unlike Wally's kids, Jai and Irey.

RELATED: The Flash: 10 Villains Who Could Be Behind The Godspeed Clones

These two got speed force powers, where Irey could become intangible and Jai accelerated muscle growth, giving him super strength. This is because they shared a single connection to the Speed Force, which Professor Zoom used to hurt them until Irey took away her brother's powers and became a normal speedster.

4 West-Allen: Survived the New 52

The New 52 to this day is a subject of controversy because it did provide an opportunity for new readers to easily become familiar with DC comics, at the expense of decades of character building, universe expansions, and monumental storylines.

Barry and Iris were introduced as friends, and readers had to watch the two eventually get together through more drama than they ever originally had. They were the lucky ones, as Wally was erased from existence and his wife was reintroduced as someone who didn't remember him. In Wally's Flash Forward series, the twins and their parents were finally reunited with one another.

3 Park-West: Never Remarries

Look, there's nothing wrong with moving on after losing a loved one, but Barry should've known another girl would end up just like Iris. After Iris is killed, Barry launches a huge investigation, serving as the main plot point until he eventually figures out the killer is Professor Zoom.

RELATED: The Flash: 10 Reasons Why Mirror Master Is His Deadliest Rogue

Barry then gets romantically involved with a woman named Fiona Webb, and the two plan to get married until Zoom comes back with the plan to kill Webb as well, leading Barry to snap his neck. When Linda was taken into the Speed Force by Black Flash, Wally fell into a depression, but defeated the villain and rescued Linda.

2 West-Allen: Overcame the anti-life equation

Darkseid is well known for being one of the most powerful comic book villains of all time. His main goal is to discover the Anti-Life Equation, which he believes will finally allow him to defeat the New Gods of New Genesis.

In the Final Crisis event, Darkseid succeeds, allowing him to enslave the human race with the equation. When Barry returns from the Speed Force being chased by the Black Racer, the first thing he does when he escapes is to visit Iris. Iris has already fallen victim to the equation, but a single kiss from Barry and a little shock from the Speed Force gives her complete freedom.

1 Park-West: Original Lightning Rod

While the Speed Force does give the speedsters their power, it's also extremely dangerous. The faster they run, the more likely they will run into the Speed Force, where they could become absorbed by the energy and cease to exist.

In order to not lose sight of their goal or themselves, speedsters will become grounded to the real world through "lightning rods", a person or group of people that mean so much to the speedster that it allows them to resist becoming one with the Speed Force. This was an unknown fact until Wally used his love for Linda to draw himself back to the real world.

Naruto: 5 Times Itachi Was Wrong (& 5 Times He Was Smarter Than We Thought He Was)

$
0
0

Few characters in Naruto captivated to the degree that Itachi did. Even those who aren't the biggest fans of the series can't argue against what a great character he was. He had so much depth and intrigue, layers that you don't often see with a Shounen antagonist or even protagonist for that matter.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Characters You Didn't Know Itachi Could Beat ( & 5 He Stands No Chance Against)

He's also one of the smartest characters in the series, always trying to think five or six moves ahead as a chess player would. It's why he's made a number of incredibly intelligent moves throughout the series. The only real things holding him back were his dedication to both Sasuke and Konoha, forcing him into situations where he was used.

10 Wrong: Shouldering The Weight Of Konoha On His Shoulders

No character put more weight on their shoulders than Itachi did, not even Naruto. He was so willing to protect Konoha that he did things no one his age should have had to.

He was willing to work with such villains as "Madara" and Danzo just to ensure a peace that even he knew was going to be fragile. Very few people would be willing to do the things he did, to become the monster he did all out of a love for the world, but that's what he did.

9 Smart: Showing Sasuke The Love He Needed

Itachi was the only one that ever truly showed Sasuke the level of love a child his age needs. His decision to be as brotherly as he was worked on two different fronts.

The first is rather obvious, he was what every big brother should be, a role model for the youngest. It also worked brilliantly as a way to push Sasuke further and further once Itachi's decision to kill the Uchiha came to be. He obviously didn't have that level of foresight, but the relationship between the two is so complex and great through the series because of his actions when Sasuke was younger.

8 Wrong: Forcing Sasuke To Be The One To Kill Him

This is always going to be the one decision that Itachi got most wrong. It's poetic justice that Sasuke be the one to kill him for the crimes he committed, but the lengths he went to ensure that Sasuke hated him were extreme.

RELATED: Naruto: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About The True Legend Of Itachi

From the constant Genjutsu to saying he never loved him. That's the type of stuff that can scar a person, which is exactly what it did to Sasuke. Even with the reveal that he always loved his brother, it still doesn't change how awful he made Sasuke's life.

7 Smart: Knowing Danzo Couldn't Be Trusted

It doesn't take a genius to know that Danzo was never a man you could trust, especially after Itachi found out he was the man that took Shisui's eye from him.

To ensure Sasuke's safety above all else, he both threaten the man via a crow clone and made sure the Third Hokage would look after him. Even for a schemer like Danzo, he knew better than to mess with Itachi. Even villains as powerful as Tobi knew not to get on Itachi's bad side.

6 Wrong: His Use Of Mental Torture

It's somewhat obscene how often Itachi resorts to using Genjutsu to both subdue and push people forward. Sasuke's the easiest to point to as he seemed to force him into remembering the day Itachi killed their parents every time they meet.

He's not the only one though as he's used it more than once on Naruto and Kakashi as well. While these conflicts do help spurn Naruto on, they are still rather heartless since mental anguish will always be worse than physical.

5 Smart: Sneaking Into Konoha During Part 1

The duality to a lot of what Itachi does is incredible. Just when you think you understand why he's doing something, your proven immediately wrong. On the surface, it seemed like Itachi and Kisame were coming to take Naruto, but that's not the reality at all.

RELATED: Naruto: 10 Awesome Itachi Cosplay That Look Just Like The Anime

The real reason Itachi came was both to check on Sasuke's state post Orochimaru attack and to serve as a reminder to Danzo that he can enter the city whenever he pleased. It showed that he will always be watching over his brother, no matter how far away he may seem.

4 Wrong: Think Amaretsu Would Stop Tobi

Kudos to Itachi for trying to keep Sasuke safe from Tobi or Obito's grasp, implanting an Amaretsu in his eyes that would only trigger upon seeing Tobi's Sharingan.

Unfortunately for Itachi, Tobi is far more difficult to deal with than that. No matter how powerful Amaretsu is, it was never going to be strong enough to deal with a man who's been posing as Madara. It's something that Itachi should have known and prepared for.

3 Smart: Trusting Naruto

It doesn't get brought up enough in the brilliant moves that Itachi's made, but it may have been his most savvy. His visit to Naruto prior to his conflict with Sasuke was amazing when you look back on in retrospect.

He was making sure Naruto was ready to take over for him, to be that guardian for Sasuke since he knew his time was coming to an end. Itachi may have been the first to truly understand Naruto's true power, the power to unite the world.

2 Wrong: Never Making A Move Against Tobi

For as much as he knew about the organization, and he knew quite a bit, it's strange that Itachi never tried to make a move against Tobi. He, above any others, should have known what a threat he was to the world.

He knew that war was destined to come if Tobi stayed alive, yet he remained on the sidelines. It was always a strange choice, especially with him desperately trying to keep Sasuke away from Tobi's influence. It may all just come down to Itachi not having enough info needed to successfully pull it off.

1 Smart: Prolonging His Fight With Sasuke To Draw Orochimaru Out

This is yet another thing that isn't readily apparent during the fight, but Itachi purposely extended it as long as he did to make sure he freed Sasuke of Orochimaru's influence, once and for all.

It's just further proof of how much of his life was spent protecting his younger brother, even when it never seemed like it. Unfortunately, Orochimaru is a cockroach that can't ever stay dead, but it helped hint at Itachi's true motives before the final emotional scene

My Hero Academia: 10 Pieces Of Aizawa/Ms. Joke Fan Art You'll Love

In the world of My Hero Academia, superpowered quirks have become so common, there are entire schools dedicated to training boys and girls to become superheroes. These schools provide a regular education alongside heroic training, and only the best teachers can bring out a student's potential.

RELATED: 10 Pieces of Zuko & Mai Fan Art That Are Totally Romantic

Shota Aizawa, or Eraserhead, is the homeroom teacher for UA's class 1-A, and the laughing hero known as Ms. Joke is a teacher at another school known as Ketsubutsu. Aizawa and Ms. Joke have crossed paths a few times, and they're like day and night. But they respect each other, and Ms. Joke also nurses a huge crush on Aizawa. So, the fans have decided to make fan art starring this unlikely couple, and here are the results.

10 Big Wink

The first entry in this charming gallery comes courtesy of artist Haraa Jubilee, who went for a cartoony and colorful take on this superhero will-they-won't-they couple. The artist peppered the negative space with a few green hearts, possibly to match Ms. Joke's bandana.

Ms. Joke popped right up behind Aizawa and got in close, and once Aizawa turned around in confusion, Ms. Joke hit him with a big smile and an even bigger wink. It's just like her to come up from behind with a "surprise!" like that.

9 Sudden Embrace

Sometimes, Aizawa is pretty standoffish even around his fellow heroes, like Midnight or All Might, but other times, he might be in the mood for a little companionship. Artist StarGureisu seems to think so too, according to this lovely fan art.

In this piece, Ms. Joke is thrown forth, right into Aizawa's waiting arms. Aizawa wasn't taken by surprise this time; he knew what was coming, and it was all he ever wanted. Just look his easily he laced his fingers between Ms. Joke's, and how he gently patted his hand on her head.

8 Punk Style

Some of the characters in My Hero Academia have a distinct punk style to them, such as the black leather and radio DJ personality of Present Mic or the sheer attitude of Katsuki Bakugo. Sometimes, Ms. Joke is a bit punkish, too, in a funny way.

RELATED: Avatar: 10 Pieces of Katara & Aang Fan Art That Are Totally Romantic

In this fan art by artist La-Minx, Ms. Joke is goofing off and throwing up the peace sign while sticking out her tongue, and Aizawa backs her up with a casual, "what are you lookin' at?" over his shoulder, aimed right at the viewer. They have so much fun together.

7 Reluctant Grin

Even if Ms. Joke and Aizawa were to hook up, it's not like Aizawa's exterior would change over time. In intimate moments, he'll open up, but in public, he's the same grouch as ever. Ms. Joke wants to put a smile on that face.

Ms. Joke is riding piggyback in artist doodle_b.u.g's charming fan art, and she's determined for her boyfriend to show that smile no matter what it takes. Aizawa isn't having the best time, but he's taking it in stride like a good sport.

6 Looking Good

Usually, Aizawa looks a big haggard, from his unshaven stubble and messy hair to his habit of using a sleeping bag in the middle of class. But if he and Ms. Joke are going to a party as a couple, he's going to clean up a bit.

RELATED: 10 Pieces of Peter Parker/Mary Jane Watson Fan-Art That Are Incredibly Romantic

In this lovely fan art by artist DKettchen, both of them are looking good in suits, and Ms. Joke made quite sure that her beau has a tie that honors her hero outfit: green and orange stripes. Aizawa probably doesn't have any preference on tie color, so Ms. Joke took her chance to provide input.

5 Smile Wider!

Aizawa's struggle to make a proper smile continues, but at least he's starting to make some progress. He's gone from "permanent scowl" to "reluctant smile" when going out and about. At this right, he might even get it right.

Artist TheHannalyzer decided to sketch out these characters on paper, and even in black and white forms, Ms. Joke is looking radiant like always, and there's fine hatching on Aizawa's scarf to give it a silvery look.

4 Hold Me Close

Artist Juney-chan went all out on this piece of Ms. Joke/Aizawa pairing fan art. It's a work of highly detailed digital art, where Aizawa is swathed in cat-pattern blankets (he loves cats) while Ms. Joke holds him tight.

RELATED: The Legend of Korra: 10 Asami Fan Art Pictures That Are Too Good

For a change, Ms. Joke isn't goofing off or trying to make Aizawa smile; instead, she's relaxed and quiet, and she's just happy that Aizawa is comfortable. The whole scene has a soft, colorful lighting to it, adding to the atmosphere of gentle charm.

3 Secret Message

This is an age-old gag; the bride and groom are happy on the outside, and the groom is secretly looking for rescue from the confines of marriage. At first, it looks like Ms. Joke had roped Aizawa into this, and he's terrified of it all.

But maybe not. There's a chance that Aizawa is actually pranking anyone who sees his "SAVE ME" paper, and he is actually quite content with the marriage. Or Ms. Joke put it there herself as a self-deprecating gag. Artist ZelgadisGW made it ambiguous, and Aizawa's calm look ofjoy could be 100% genuine.

2 The Long Haul

Once in a while, Ms. Joke's creative sense of humor inspires Aizawa to show his quirky side, and in this cheerful fan art by artist JCLIllustrations, Aizawa is being a great sport and decided to haul his girlfriend along in a wheelbarrow.

It's just like Ms. Joke to enjoy a gag like this, and she'll want Aizawa to push her along all day long. She's also got a paper in her hand, but its contents aren't shown. Is she hiding some big secret?

1 Trading Places

Sometimes, it's fun to take two characters and put them in each other's outfits or lots in life and see what happens. Artist DKettchen returns, and they imagined Ms. Joke and Aizawa with each other's color schemes and personalities, and perhaps quirks, too.

A serious Ms. Joke is getting a little fed up with the constant need to iron out her scarf, and a goofy Aizawa is just hanging out, gently teasing her in that garish outfit of his. The tables have totally turned this time.

Yu-Gi-Oh: 10 Cards Fans Want Off The Banlist | CBR

$
0
0

An open secret for long-time players of Yu-Gi-Oh is that every card that gets banned doesn’t actually need to be banned. On the contrary, as Konami releases newer cards, they have to force players to purchase a new product. Their best method of doing so is weakening decks everyone already has for the purpose of making other decks clearly more powerful, making it difficult for players that are playing older decks to continue winning.

RELATED: Yu-Gi-Oh: Best Rikka Cards

With that in mind, sometimes cards are unfairly banned or remain on the banlist far longer than they should. Most of these are cards that have been banned, while a handful have been limited in some way—but fans want to see all of them make a return.

10 BLACKWING - STEAM THE CLOAK

This card was pre-emptively banned in time for Crystron Halqifibrax, a monster that special summons tuners directly from the deck. Steam the Cloak creates it’s own tokens and is a tuner, which means the shenanigans would’ve been obscene.

But considering Halqifibrax is a problem no matter what, perhaps they should ban that and bring back Steam so Blackwing players can enjoy their token shenanigans?

9 MAXX "C"

Maxx “C” at one point was a $5 secret because people don’t read cards. It allows players to draw every time the player special summons. This seems legit and it can be, but there are ways to counter it now.

Called by the Grave and Ash Blossom both stop it on Turn One, and on established boards, this card can be negated. But it at least keeps players honest and stops them from summoning a billion times.

8 THUNDER DRAGON COLOSSUS

Thunder Dragon Colossus was the backbone of Thunder Dragons. It stopped the opponent from searching cards from their deck, which is what made Thunder Dragons so fearsome, to begin with.

It could also protect itself if destroyed by battle or card effect by banishing Thunder monsters from the graveyard. There was no reason to ban this card when limiting it would’ve been just fine.

7 SALAMANGREAT MIRAGESTALLIO

Miragestallio helped out Salamangreat combos immensely, as a level 3 Xyz that could special summon Salamangreat monsters from the deck in defense position, it was integral to the deck’s many combos.

If it was Link Summoned away, it could also target a monster on the field and bounce it back to the hand. Perhaps it shouldn’t have been at three, but banning it felt excessive. They tried to kill the deck and failed—it’s still one of the best in the meta.

6 KAISER COLOSSEUM

Kaiser Colosseum’s entire point was slowing the game down some. It kept the opponent from ever playing more monsters than the controller of the card had. For many decks that stick to having one boss monster at max, this made getting over those monsters rather difficult.

But in a game that’s so centered around being absurdly fast-paced, making room for players who want to play slower isn’t a bad thing.

5 WIND-UP CARRIER ZENMAITY

Zenmaity was able to facilitate the dreaded Wind-Up Hunter hand loop combo, which allowed a player to loop a discard effect until the opponent had no cards in hand.

Zenmaity could detach an Xyz material to special summon Wind-Ups from hand or deck, and whenever a Wind-Up was destroyed it could detach an Xyz material and return that target to hand. This is some great support Wind-Ups could use to shake the game up. If Hunter’s the problem, ban it and bring Zenmaity back.

4 HARPIE'S FEATHER DUSTER

This card is pretty incredible—it can obliterate the opponent’s entire backrow for nothing. It feels unfair, but the reality is there’s currently a card in the game right now that’s at three that can destroy the opponent’s ATK position monsters or the opponent’s spell and trap cards.

No one’s calling for it to be banned, and Harpie’s Feather Duster is legal in the OCG. This will only make players think twice about how they build their boards.

3 SKY STRIKER MOBILIZE - ENGAGE

Sky Striker haters certainly never want to see this card again, but frankly, it being banned was a blatant attempt by Konami to get players to stop playing the deck.

There’s no reason for it to be banned when the problem was players going Engage into Engage, which can be solved by placing the card at a single copy. Sky Strikers would be only slightly more consistent than they already are, which doesn’t really mean a bunch in the long run as they’re already the most consistent deck.

2 VANITY'S EMPTINESS

This card was overpowered when players could have three of them. But at a single copy, it’s not the threat people think it is. It stops players from special summoning monsters, which is good, but if any card is sent from the deck or field to the player’s graveyard, it gets destroyed. They can be destroyed by popping other cards on the field.

It wouldn’t stand up very well to Lightning Storm, and could even be wiped out by a well-timed Evenly Matched. Offering options to slow the game down doesn’t seem like a bad thing.

1 DINOWRESTLER PANKRATOPS

Pankratops being limited is weird. If the opponent has more monsters than the player, they can special summon Pankratops. During either player’s turn, it can tribute a Dinowrestler to target and destroy a card on field.

This is basically a side deck card—players use it to get rid of pesky monsters on field before committing, and it can only be summoned once per turn. Konami limited this to make players play other cards, but that’s got nothing to do with what fans enjoy.

Netflix's Dark: How the 'Origin' Completes Jonas and Martha's Journey

WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for the third and final season of Netflix's Dark, streaming now.

When young Jonas (Louis Hofmann) was tricked by his older, disfigured self, Adam, in Season 2 of Dark, fans discovered there might have been an origin point where Winden's time-knot could have been broken. This infinite loop got Jonas' dad, Mikkel, thrown from 2019 to 1986, and as a result of many subsequent dominoes being knocked over, Jonas ended up falling in love with his teenage aunt, Martha.

To make it worse a nuclear meltdown in 2020 actually leads to global fallout, so Jonas isn't just obsessed with figuring out if he can untangle Martha from this temporal web; he also wants to stop the apocalypse. In Season 3, though, their romance is finally completed when Jonas discovers exactly how the product of their love has caused all the turmoil in the series as this person actually plays a key role in the loop.

Jonas and Martha's journey really has been a poetic tragedy because when Martha's little brother, Mikkel, got lost in time, he grew up to be Michael (Jonas' dad in the present). And through it all, Jonas has been searching to figure out how to undo the origin of all this, which began with Michael's suicide in the first season. This was the first domino that fell and since then, he's tried but failed to pull away from Martha. After all, as he often tells her, they're perfect for each other, so when Adam killed her at the end of last season, fans were shocked by Martha 2.0 arriving from the second Dark world.

She promised Jonas she'd help him save his reality once he helped her and they went through their own journey in her mirror world. Unfortunately, this was all by Adam's design as he needed the apocalypse to happen in his world, which is why he duped Jonas. Ironically, it's also Eva's (the older Martha in the mirror world) plan because the apocalypse Martha 2.0 wants to stop actually keeps their world running. Both disasters actually allow the infinite loop to perpetuate with key time travelers crossing over into each other's world, so it's a big chess game between Adam and Eva. However, the 'origin' Adam's trying to destroy and Eva's trying to preserve isn't a place or a point in time -- it's their own son.

This is the trio of time-hopping assassins with a cleft lip -- a young boy, a middle-aged man and an older gentleman who are the same person at different points in their life. This male is conceived when Martha 2.0 realizes her soul and dreams are tethered to Jonas and they sleep together. She becomes pregnant and then turns into Adam's pawn because he's the one who had her come to rescue Jonas and time-hop to the mirror world in the first place. This son, aka the Unknown, is later raised by Eva to cause nuclear meltdowns in both worlds by a series of key kills. They go to the 1800s to kill old Man Tannhaus and stop him from spilling the truth about the Travelers; they then kill old Bernd Doppler over 200 years later to get keys for Winden's reactors, as well as Claudia's old secretary in the '80s for schematics on the God Particle. This allows them to create the apocalypses and thus keep both worlds in a cycle of pain and destruction.

They're more than just agents of chaos; they're agents of creation too as the Unknown actually mates with Agnes, creating the Nielsen bloodline, as well as most of the families thereafter in both worlds. So, they're the start of Dark's bloodlines, fighting against Adam and the Travelers who want to destroy both worlds as they don't see this existence as paradise. So while Eva's all about motherhood, Adam really doesn't believe in the idea of family because there is too much death and destruction in the knot -- a price Eva's willing to pay on both worlds. The Unknown helps her out by also tinkering with Claudia's notebook, and when Eva actually gets ahold and reveals the truth to Martha 2.0, it's clear the old woman is focusing more on her son more than Jonas. She even has Martha 2.0 write the letter to the Stranger that dupes him into becoming the cold-hearted Adam in Earth-1 by jumping to the 1800s. Eva later gets Martha 2.0 to kill Jonas so he can't stop the apocalypses and to become the cold old lady in the future that feuds with Adam.

To her, Adam, Jonas and their world are sinning by trying to abort both worlds, and it's why she's willing to keep killing in the loop. Sure, they were both linked through love, but now Eva believes in a higher calling as she's playing God and her son is the one actually molding many lives with Agnes. Adam considers this blasphemy, however, and after centuries of realizing how Eva is his true enemy, he'd eventually trap Martha 2.0 and siphon energy of both apocalypses in order to kill her as the child's a product of both energies, and thus an anomaly is formed. But when killing Martha 2.0 doesn't break the loop, Claudia, as the White Wolf, reveals the origin isn't the Unknown's family tree -- it's the original world that gave rise to these two worlds which leaves Adam coming up with a new plan for young Jonas and Martha 2.0.

Created by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese, Dark stars Oliver Masucci, Karoline Eichhorn and Jördis Triebel. Season 3 is currently available on Netflix.
