PlayStation has released an announcement trailer for its Resident Evil 3 remake during its State of Play broadcast Tuesday morning. Along with the trailer comes the reveal that the highly-anticipated game will be released on April 3, 2020 for the PlayStation 4.
Jill Valentine returns to Raccoon City, where the unrelenting Nemesis are running wild. The trailer kicks off with a timer alternating between higher and lower numbers, mixed with dark footage of different parts of the city. Then, the timer runs down to 20:07 with a loud dial tone, before the phrase "September 28 -- Raccoon City" is displayed on the screen.
We then follow Jill Valentine as she frantically runs through a fiery building, trying to escape her pursuers. The situation in Raccoon City is laid out before us, with the majority of its population infected and no hope in sight. Just as the Resident Evil 3 logo is featured on the screen, we're hit with a short advertisement for the Umbrella Corporation.
Cover art for Capcom's Resident Evil 3 remake surfaced online last week, featuring redesigns for protagonist Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira and the stalking monster Nemesis.
