SPOILER WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for "Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part 1," the first installment of this year's Arrowverse crossover.

As previously reported, Burt Ward -- who played Robin on the Adam West-starred 1966 Batman television series -- makes an appearance in the Arrowverse's highly-anticipated "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event. And while Ward's character is not explicitly referred to as Robin during the short cameo, he does pay tribute to one of the Boy Wonder's most iconic catchphrases from back in the '60s.

The newest episode of The CW's Supergirl -- titled, "Crisis on Infinite Earths, Part 1" -- begins with a montage of cameos by non-Arrowverse DC stars (past and present), whose characters inhabit various different Earths. The montage ends with Ward's cameo, which takes place in Gotham City on the appropriately-named Earth-66.

Ward's character -- presumably an aged version of Dick Grayson -- is seen sporting a red, yellow and green shirt, happily walking his dog on the streets of Gotham to the tune of the old show's classic theme song. The blue sky suddenly turns an eerie red, an omen of the coming Crisis. The former Robin, noticing this, looks to the sky and loudly exclaims, "Holy crimson skies of death!"

Throughout the '60s Batman television series, Ward's Robin would often shout "Holy [noun], Batman!" in order to express his shock or concern as it pertained to the specific situation the Dynamic Duo currently found themselves in. This catchphrase has since become synonymous with the character, even being referenced by Chris O'Donnell's version of Robin in 1995's Batman Forever.
