Though the role of Wonder Woman obviously went to Gal Gadot, Quantum of Solace's Olga Kurylenko was once a front runner for the part. Kurylenko herself seemed unsure about the role, particularly due to Ben Affleck's potential reaction.

She told The Hollywood Reporter that she didn't think Ben Affleck would want to work with her for a second time. The two starred together in 2012's To the Wonder.

“I like Ben as a guy, but I was worried because we had already worked together," Kurylenko said. "Maybe, he wouldn’t want to work with someone again. Maybe, he’d want to have someone he’s never worked with before."

"People don’t usually play couples over and over in different film, "she continued. "I thought, ‘I’ve already been in a movie with him. What are the chances of being with him in another movie?’”

It's worth noting that Gal Gadot came close to getting the part of Camille Montes in Quantum of Solace, which eventually went to Kurylenko. Kurylenko has also had roles in 2013's Oblivian, 2014's Vampire Academy and 2018's The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.

Gadot first appeared as Wonder Woman/Diana Prince in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She will reprise the role in Wonder Woman 1984.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman 1984 stars Gal Gadot as Diana, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Pedro Pascal and Natasha Rothwell. The film opens on June 5, 2020.
