As the promotional campaign for Ghostbusters: Afterlife begins, the upcoming sequel has released its first teaser poster and official plot synopsis.
The film's first poster shows the Ecto-1 racing through a grassy field as it approaches a cross-dimensional rift, similar to the portal in the 1984 original film that marked the arrival of Gozer, the Sumerian God of Destruction. The poster and synopsis shared by Sony are below.
From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.
Sony has also confirmed the premiere date for the film's first trailer next week, providing fans with a first look at the sequel as a new generation discovers the legacy of the Ghostbusters and their surprising connection to it.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is directed by Jason Reitman, who also co-wrote the film with Gil Kenan. Starring Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd and Mckenna Grace, the film arrives in theaters July 10, 2020.
