The popular manga/anime franchise My Hero Academia has introduced a whole host of colorful super-powered individuals training to become Pro Heroes at U.A. High School, where adult heroes train the next generation of costumed crime-fighters. Of all the powered characters in the colorful world of heroes and villains, the biggest of them all is Mt. Lady.

In addition to towering over the rest of the anime's heroes, the superhero persona of Yu Takeyama is also a registered Pro Hero and member of the Lurkers. Now, we're taking a closer look at this anime hero, including her backstory, her powers and abilities and her pivotal role in the overall story.

Mt. Lady is seen on her first day as a registered Pro Hero assisting Kamui Woods in taking down a villain with one of her super moves and is immediately embraced by the general public and paparazzi. The media attention quickly reveals that Mt. Lady has a clearly pronounced sense of vanity, as she basks in the public's adoration. She's not afraid to take advantage of her good looks to both boost her popularity and get others to perform tasks and favors for her regularly. Despite this, Mt. Lady's commitment to selfless heroism is evident, as she often puts herself in harm's way to save others and refuses to use her powers if it puts innocents directly at risk.

Mt. Lady is ranked as the 23rd most powerful Pro Hero in Japan and is a vital member of the super-team the Lurkers, where she serves alongside Edgeshot and Kamui Woods to help fill the void left by All Might, the most powerful Pro Hero who stepped out of the spotlight when a devastating battle with his nemesis drained his strength. Although she's a committed member of the team, Mt. Lady is visibly annoyed that she is only ranked 23rd most powerful in the entire country.

Mt. Lady's Quirk -- My Hero Academia's term for superpowers -- has her quickly grow to a gigantic size roughly 68 ft. tall. While at this enlarged size, Mt. Lady boasts increased strength and endurance, able to topple over buildings and withstand powerful attacks that she wouldn't normally be able to endure at her normal size. One of the drawbacks with Mt. Lady's Quirk is that she cannot modulate the size she takes -- she is either her normal size or standing at the full 68 ft. tall form.

In addition to her Quirk, Mt. Lady has demonstrated a degree of advanced martial arts training which she employs both in her regular size and enlarged form. Two of her signature fighting moves are the Canyon Cannon, a powerful flying kick she used in her first appearance, and a smashing headbutt employed while growing into giant-size that she refers to as the Titan Cliff.

After her initial debut alongside Kamui Woods, the duo were later assisted by All Might in stopping a hostage situation instigated by Trapezius Head Gear. Later, Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods taught the U.A. students on the importance of working together as a team, and Mt. Lady admitted she felt guilty for barging into one of Kamui Woods' assignments on her first day as a Pro Hero and taking all the glory. Mt. Lady takes on the U.A. student Mineta Minoru as an intern who hints that the experience was traumatizing due to Mt. Lady making him do all her chores and being very demanding.

Mt. Lady's most pivotal role came in a raid led by the Pro Heroes and Police Force on a warehouse where the kidnapped Katsuki Bakugo was kept. Realizing the team is walking into a trap, Mt. Lady stops the assembled villains led by the nefarious All for One from attacking the rescuers but is gravely injured as she stops the evil Mister Compress. However, Kamui Woods went on to save Mt. Lady and take her to safety, reaffirming their commitment to each other.
