Legendary comic writer Marv Wolfman, who is also doing a two-part tie-in comic for the event, co-wrote the Arrow portion of the CW's upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Arrow co-creator and executive producer Marc Guggenheim said, “I could not have asked for a better experience. It just worked out extremely, extremely well." Guggenheim also noted he was happy to work with the comic book legend due to his own tendency to write with a "heavy hand."
"Marv’s pages came in and they were brilliant," Guggenheim added. "Like unbelievably brilliant. Such great writing, so vivid. I literally didn’t end up changing that much,” he says. “Marv’s interpretation of Lex Luthor, in particular, is genius. What phenomenal, phenomenal material for Jon Cryer!”
Wolfman co-created some of the biggests characters from both Marvel and DC Comics, including Blade, Bullseye and Nova. While working with George Perez on Teen Titans, the duo created Raven, Starfire and Cyborg. Wolfman and Perez also crafted the original Crisis on Infinite Earths series. Wolfman and Guggenheim are co-writing the Crisis on Infinite Earths 100-Page Giant comics.
