Disney has released a wave of live-action remakes and sequels over the course of 2019, and the last one, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, will be available on home video before the year's end.
The villain-centric sequel has released a new trailer, announcing it will be available on digital HD December 31 and on Blu-ray and DVD January 14, 2020.
Released in theaters this past October, the sequel to 2014's Maleficent had Angelina Jolie reprise her role as The Sleeping Beauty villain, drawn into a renewed conflict against humanity by the parents of Prince Phillip, Princess Aurora's new fiancé.
Mistress of Evil opened to a mixed critical reception compared to its predecessor, and went on to earn $480.6 million at the worldwide box office. This is a significant decline from Maleficent's worldwide box office earnings of $758.5 million upon its initial theatrical release in 2014.
Directed by Joachim Rønning, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil stars Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ed Skrein, Jenn Murray, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple and Harris Dickinson. The film is available on digital HD December 31 and Blu-ray and DVD January 14.
