Excitement for Marvel Studios' upcoming Black Widow film has grown since the release of its first trailer. Now, Scarlett Johansson's Avengers: Endgame castmate Jeremy Renner has shared his support for the film.
"I think this will be amazing! Go Scarjo," Renner posted on Twitter along with a teaser poster for Black Widow. The poster was released along with the first trailer for the solo film.
In Avengers: Endgame, Johansson's Black Widow sacrificed herself for the Soul Stone so Renner's Hawkeye wouldn't have to. The upcoming Black Widow film is reported to take place after Captain America: Civil War and is the first film in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Renner is known for his role as Hawkeye/Clint Barton in the MCU. He has appeared as the character in 2012's The Avengers, 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, 2016's Captain America: Civil War and 2019's Avengers: Endgame. The actor is set to reprise his role as Clint Barton in the upcoming Disney+ series Hawkeye. The series will premiere sometime in Fall 2021.
Directed by Cate Shortland, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson as Natasha, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour as Alexei aka The Red Guardian and Rachel Weisz as Melina. The film opens May 1, 2020.
