In Episode 3, fans of the HBO series Watchmen were introduced to an older version of Laurie Blake. Soon after, they were introduced to her... ahem... bedroom aid. Yes, the former Laurie Juspeczyk/Silk Spectre and current FBI agent is the proud owner of a giant metal sex toy modeled after her ex-lover Doctor Manhattan, complete with detachable parts. Now, for those interested in the logistical specs of the machinery, HBO has released the full schematics for "Excalibur."
The toy is meant to mimic the proportions of Doctor Manhattan, who is radioactive, all-powerful, all-knowing and, of course, blue. The show picks up 30 years after the events of the comic book source material by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, and for presumably a good portion of that time, Laurie has been carrying this keepsake in her briefcase.
Although the aid might look a little intimidating to users of today's vibrator technology, it's probably just the thing for Laurie since she's effectively used to having sex with a god. That said, while humanity has made some significant strides in the Watchmen universe, watching Laurie fondle the sex toy makes this particular piece of equipment look a bit antiquated, not to mention proportionally unpleasant.
Developed by Damon Lindelof, HBO's Watchmen stars Jeremy Irons, Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Tom Mison, James Wolk, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith and Adelynn Spoon. The series airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
